Yeah, like many, I thought we had topped out at 7th after beating LSU, but were ranked at our highest 8th, (twice) before losing to South Carolina on the road, and after beating LSU.
We fell to 8-5, ultimately and unranked in the final poll.

We did top out at 7th in the “Harris Interactive Poll” and the BCS standings with our 5-0 start, and those polls were pretty important prior to the committee’s creation in 2014:
