According to Cal:

“Dom was really good today and he kinda hurt his ankle. I don’t know how bad, but he hurt it again,” Calipari said on his call-in show. “That high ankle sprain is ugly, and it’s one that just takes time to heal. Hopefully he didn’t try to come back too early.”

High ankle sprain is worse than a break. Recovery is very lengthy. I enjoy watching Hawkins play and wish for him a full, speedy recovery.

Not what we wanted to hear, seems every year a key player gets knocked out, and I really hate it for Dom.

Shiznitz. Really frustrating. Think Dom could help us in back court as much as Willis is helping in front court. Would love to see two Kentucky boys contributing this year.

I remember a thread a few days ago where people was questioning why he has been out so long. High ankle sprains just take a long time to heal and the danger of coming back to soon on it is re tweaking it. You just have no strength in it and it's very easy to re injure the ankle. This could set him back a few more weeks. It's really a shame because he was playing really good basketball.

Not people... One knowitall poster

I sprained my ankle bad back in June. 2 months later I played ball on it and the smallest thing would make it feel like I had just turned it for the first time all over again. It still gets sore today and its a 7 month old injury.

Dom must be frustrated as hell... broken hand and now a high ankle sprain. Nagging injuries happen in sports; it's part of the game. But, having two (non-season ending) ones occur consecutively is the kinda' bad luck I thought I only had. Dom would have likely got more PT in conference play as well.

Get well young man.

Some people truly do not understand. That poster was just railing against UK's people for not having Hawkins back.
if I understand you correctly...I have to respectively disagree. IMO, the poster, was saying Dom should have been back in week or less; IF we had a decent medical team.
Then tried to back it up with other nonsense.
He is a fan, a huge fan...but he definitely regards his opinions much higher than everyone else's.
If I misunderstood your reply...my apologies
