would have flushed a couple of those balls he had down close to the basket pre injury, instead attempted to lay it in. Regardless love what he brings and am elated to have him back, just feel like he's not close to 100 percent.

The psychological aspect of recovery from an ACL is often overlooked. I'm certain that strength testing, range of motion, and other return to play objective measures indicate he's physically ready. But him having confidence in that knee will take time. He improved last night as the game went on. But finishing plays above the rim requires the confidence to elevate (and most importantly land) on that knee.

That is one area I got excited about last night and that is...I thought the same thing early on, but as the game went on he really started to elevate better and took a big step forward mentally I believe. It just looked like he was starting to trust his leg again and really jump with force later into the game.

He'll get there. I think he just needs to see himself do it and he'll realize he's fine. He certainly got more aggressive as the game went on.

I believe one of his strong attempts to flush was blocked abit from behind by Nebakaneezer Plumblee. He was inches from flushing when NP flicked it from behind just enough.

I still am not totally sold on Poy. I loved him coming out of High School and still don't see that player. But, these comments about the injury being the excuse doesn't explain how he had difficulty elevating at the basket prior to his injuries. That is totally true and I can remember commenting about it and even last year a lot of you were posting that Lyles needed to start over him before his injury. Now having said all this, I am not saying he is bad or won't be better as the year goes along or has issues because of the injury. But, lets not lie about it either. He was really good at times but other times disappeared. That is the history and we have to wait and see if things change now that he is a Senior.

I think he could be the Darius Miller of this year's team...not that he's the same type of scorer...he'll do it more like James Lee did in 1978 (showing my age here). He'll never be a good outside shooter, and thus probably won't make an impact in the pros. But we'll need his toughness in the lane and on defense if we're going to go deep in the NCAA. Let's celebrate the guy for what he is...a hard nosed glue guy inside who can make the tough rebounds in traffic and won't back down from anyone.

The level of contact Plumlee and Skal got away with was complete night and day. Was there a rule placed in that we hadn't talked about yet like the amount of contact you can make is relative to how much you weigh or something?

I say this because Poythress was bumped a lot down low and he was expecting contact a lot

If we had Poy's toughness last year against Wisconsin we would have walked away a winner.

He just need to dunk it when he rebounds instead of coming down and going back up.

He'll get there. He's almost there. He had 9 and 7. Not that bad. If he can get to 12 and 8...that's great stat.
