When asked where he's made the most progress this offseason under Dawson: "I feel like just my comfort level. I think there were definitely times where I was uncomfortable last year, I mean there's no denying that, but I think now having a year under my belt I've seen it all. I've seen everything. I've been to three overtimes in the swamp, I've went toe-to-toe with the number one team in the country, I've been there. Nothing's going to surprise me, so I'm excited about going out and playing."
On being two-deep at almost every offensive position: "No doubt, from left tackle to right tackle, from X to Z, even with us. I feel comfortable whether it's me or Drew, we're going to have a really, really solid football team out there that's going to win a lot of football games."
On how it changes his mindset knowing that he has big-time playmakers out there with him: "You get a little more aggressive. I can squeeze balls into windows where I normally wouldn't. You know, our offense has gotten a lot better, but our defense has gotten a lot better too. I mean, we got some long guys at corner now and they're making a lot of stuff hard on us which is really good."
On defensive players that have stood out: "Denzil (Ware) has been making a lot of plays, he can probably dunk a basketball easier than anyone on our team and he's just making a whole lot of plays, Josh (Forrest) he's making a lot of plays, he's the leader over there (and) Melvin (Lewis). Those guys are the real leaders on this football team. When you look at those guys and the plays they're making it's really, really nice to see."
