...that Pope was "the guy" all along.
-Throwing money after people that they already had to know weren't interested. (Drew and MB are not unfamiliar and/or out of contact, and EVERYONE who wasn't drunk knew Hurley wasn't coming here.)
-Not even reaching out to Donovan.
-Not making Wright say no directly to a great offer.
-Not considering offering other more experienced candidates like Pearl, Oats, or even the Iowa St coach.
This was the choice all along and Drew and Hurley was just misdirection. We moved WAAAAY TO FAST from "throwing money at Hurley" to "Hey, here's Mark Pope!" LOL.
Even so...
-I'm good with the hire over what we would've seen with Cal had he stayed.
-A ton of people should be thrilled since
-It isnt Drew
-It isnt Donovan
-It isnt Pitino
-It isnt anyone else that people on here complained about being possible candidates
-This guy knows the situation here.
-Hes more than a familiar name in KY, Louisville and now across the country.
LFG!
