Shai is more of a potential kid. Not bad for now and should be an ok back up but if you can get another guard you do that because chances are it will take some seasons before he will have a semi big impact.

Shai Alexander is a talented kid but I agree he's going to need time.Cal seems to be looking at several guards right now so I think we will be fine in that area.

Most of the recruiting experts have been saying that Alexander will be the big surprise out of our Recruits next year. If you remember this last class with Fox and Monk coming in with Briscoe were saying that would be our weakness at outside shooting and shooting 3's. At the end of the season that was one of our strengths with Monk and Willis hitting around 40% from 3 and Fox was improving his outside game as the season progressed into March. Everyone is saying that Green has a nice outside shot and can hit the 3 and Alexander would be the surprise next year. If we can get another shooting guard to go with these 2 we will be fine. We also have seen lately that Vanderbilt and PJ Washington can hit the outside shot and drain the 3 from Forward position. That is what we have needed is a Forward that can shoot outside as well as drive to the basket. I think we will be fine next year with our shooting with our guards and forwards.

I bet you won't see a 3 guard lineup next year...PJ Washington will be a starter. Only way i want Briscoe back is as the PG
Briscoe
Diallo
Washington
WG
Bamba

I would be fine with that lineup. That length works for Cal's switching defense. Should be able to switch everything. Briscoe at 6'3 with a 6'8-ish wingspan and strong build can hold his own against most guys 1-3 and some 4's and 5's. Bamba is athletic enough to become a AD/WCS type defender and guard the 1-5. The other 3 should have the size and quickness to guard every spot.

I wouldn't mind adding Johnson at the 3 and moving Washington to the 4. He seems better suited to play a stretch 4. That stretches the defense with both guys being able to shoot the 3. Johnson is deadly from 3 and Washington is capable. If Briscoe continues to shoot better (most guys make the biggest jumps between So and JR years) and Diallo is decent, then that team could be very efficient on offense.

Need to get Briscoe back plus add Bamba and Johnson.
