Has anyone ever be banned from

This board?

On the old board, if you got caught being really bad, you might get put on "Blacklisted" status. And if you tried to post you would get a big red-lettered noticed with a countdown clock to show you how much more time you had in your "cooling off" period (sometimes I would get it for 3 or 5 days. Once I got it for a whole week I think). That was pretty awesome back in the day, to get "punished" by our Mods. I had that happen to me a few times. I don't think the new service has such a thing or I would probably have found out about it by now.

Since the big change and switchover your not going to be banned anymore for only putting forth unpopular points. It's just the cursing, and other behavior now. So people who say someone should be banned just because they disagree with them, well that doesn't seem to happen now. I'd say that's a good thing overall. So whether your a Card, Jayhawk, Tar Heel, or Blue Devil fan you can have a presence here as long as your respect people. Other boards it may be different, but I think we've evolved beyond that. Personally I like interacting with other fans as long as they are civil.

I don't know what the heck you're talking about. Rafters was never like that to begin with. Ever. Rival / quasi outsider fans have always been welcome to visit Rafters and let loose whatever (and yes they got back). And hell, cursing used to be somewhat OK as long as it wasn't vulgar. But NEVER has Rafters not welcomed dissention from rival fans. In fact, very often when anybody attempted to suggest that a poster be banned for having an "outsider's perspective" we ate our own for the protection of the Rafter's integrity. This was very deliberate and swift, much as my reply to you is now. The long time users here have always known that Rafters is the most virtuous college message board in this regard. It ain't always pretty, but it's open. WIDE effing open. We've always liked interacting with other fans. We don't care if they're civil. In fact, we'd prefer they not be.

The "switch" did nothing to either add or preserve the integrity of Rafters. Suggesting that the switch made it so that an outsider's perspective could become more welcome is fundamentally one of the most baseless and disingenuous things ever stated in Rafters history.

I got banned on the UL board and had all my post deleted for saying UL fans were being ridiculous for blaming this escapade on the president and saying the innocent kids got punished, when in fact the odds of this team having players involved in the scandal are way too high considering there are freshman at other schools who were involved. And told them they didn't know the facts yet so they didn't know if the actions had merit or not. I stood up for the UL administration there fans were bashing and got banned pretty much. Very silly to me.

This is my 3rd handle. First banning was in '02 or so, but could still post on a blackberry and then they just got rid of my handle. I come back again about a yr later and was banned again toward the end of Tubby's reign of terror.

After he left for some reason the board did not blacklist posters who would just question some called plays. Like Tubby telling Sheray to walk away while lined up to get a rebound from the ft shooter. You say anything like "what was he thinking!!??" BLACKLISTED! If you questioned why Tubby offered Mike Williams that was a ban as well.

The simplest of posts got you banned. 90% of the board would not be here if the same standards were used again. On other boards rivals was known as E/D "edit and delete"

I got banned for a week just over a month ago. What was weird about this compared to the old board....i couldnt even read other threads..i couldnt get on at all...thats never happened before

I got banned right after Tubby left. I was very vocal about Tubby needing to move on but posted a thread about wishing him luck and thanking him for the good memories..... Some mod back then must of had sour grapes and banned me.

So then for several years I just posted on TBK and only read these boards until 2012 when I decided to just make a whole new account and post here once it was obvious that TBK was going down hill super fast.

As for others.... I think the mods do a good job of giving time outs instead of full on bans. Except for trolls. The mods will all out ban an obvious troll.

You could ban me for saying what I would like to see happen to Pat Forde , Little Dougie, Jerry Tipton, or Zipp lol !!

I doubt Tipton, but if you told me guys like Forde and Gottleib were busted having an account here to troll, it wouldn't shock me

Back during the Tubby wars I thought several media types were hanging out here for material to publicly trash the fan base. Few times you'd get one nutso LOD (most of them were pretty good joes) make an asinine statement and the next day or so we'd all be painted as idiots thinking the same way. First time or two I thought it was coincidence, but it just got too regular.

I've been here a long time to as you know. It has changed some from my perspective. Maybe not yours, but that's OK, it doesn't change mine. Sure we've always had rival poster's, in the early years we were overrun with IU fans. That's definitely changed I think you'd agree. And it seems more of the one's we do see tread a bit more lightly, and are more respectful than in the past. Of course there are exceptions, there always will be, but from my perspective I've seen a change.

Was banned for about an hour. Not going to say why, but I will say I won't do it again.

Having said that, UMM is a really questionable poster. I'm shocked he hasn't been banned. His threads and CUT-NETS are some of the worst.

I was banned because a former mod had a stick up his you know what. He told me he'd never let me back, so I created a new username based on my job....now everyone thinks I'm a uconn fan

I've got 9k over 8 years and have never been banned on this board , post almost every day .
oh geez, - I am on this board way too much; I've only been here 5 years and closing in on 10K
:flushed:

As far as I know, I've never been banned anywhere else - and I haven't been banned here yet. Although I'm sure it's been close a time or two

What's sucked on my temporary ban was the fact that I was leading stupid underdogs picks. Got banned the first week of Oct. and still got 26.5 points which was half the total of a winner who played all season. Won the scout boards with a 65 point run, just sucks to not be given the chance to compete.

Still bet the SUP picks off shore and racked up some good change.
