Yeah, today sucks. But proud of Pope’s first season. We have a lot to look forward to.

My son just went to bed crying. This is really his first year where he gets it and was invested. He wanted to win a championship with Butler on the team, and is devastated it’s over.

I was in your son’s shoes after the Uk Jacksonville game in the 1970 NCAA tournament. The game was in the afternoon and as the game wore down, this 10 year old realized that we were going to lose when Dan Issel fouled out. Began to cry as my Mom and Dad tried to console me. Your son has learned well. Tell him this old man understands.

I really feel bad for Butler. Played his ass off with a banged up shoulder. He will be missed. This is the hardest part of College Basketball. Getting invested into a team, have high hopes and it comes to a sudden end in a win or go home single-elimination Tournament.

Yes he did! I have really not been “invested” since before Calipari. New team every year. With the portal now in place, we are going to lose players more often than before but I think Pope will bring in high character players that we will fall in love with as we did this year. If we had won the National Championship this year, I still would not want the season to end.
