Hal Mumme arrested in Lexington.

From the news reports, he was asked to leave the Hyatt and got physical when officers tried to escort him out.

Wonder if Claude was with him?

Aside: I was a bouncer at crystals, back in the day. We had to call the popo on “DJ” Johnson.
This was shortly after his comments about Happy Chandler. He thought he was untouchable….
he was dressed like prince, drunk, groping women, picking fights … then refused to leave.
but darted once he knew the call was made…

Whole thing really sounds strange . Can’t wait to c the body cam footage .
Really might b a case of an over aggressive officer abusing his authority and enjoying beating up a 70 year old .no criminal record . Really strange .

If no cam footage exonerates the officer my guess is Mumme recovers s bunch from the city.

Mumme is a POS. Sounds like he acted just the way he did the first time I met him. Lock him up.

Ugh what a bum, not paying hotel bill? Sure as hell hope UK athletes stay away from whatever NIL scam he is a part of.

Well what respect he had is now gone, I don't guess it bothers some people to act like a fool. People will remember him for that now, he may not care but it will hurt him more than he thinks it will. People are stupid and he is one of them with that little defiant smirk on his face.

That doesn’t sound like the Dustin Johnson I watch on TV almost every week. DJ seems pretty chill plus highly doubt he knows who Happy is. Pics or never happened!

There was a David "DJ" Johnson that played CB at UK in the late 1980s, around the time "Happy" made his infamous comment at a UK Board Meeting. He looked kind of like Prince, iirc.
Think he's talking about Dennis Johnson.

You make those slanderous statements with zero basis. Where was it said that he was beaten up? You are sad and pathetic.

Such a lib response looking for body cam footage of a dude that was combative to leave the property.” Over aggressive “ officer is the rally cry. Get lost 🇺🇸🍺

Think he's talking about Dennis Johnson.
Dennis Johnson was 8 or 9 years old in the late 80’s when Happy made his remark (though he’d already played varsity HS ball by that age.)

This definitely does not involve Dennis Johnson.

Actually this thread identifies the defensive back, “DJ.,” pretty clearly.

Sorry to offend those above on this thread . I was apparently under the mistaken impression that people were innocent until proven guilty . Guess I got the country where this happened in wrong.

Seriously, if you don’t think some police officers join the force because they are bullys you don’t live in the real world.

Let’s c the body cam if one exist . Maybe he was drunk and out Of line.
maybe not . My point is to get all of the facts before you judge him.
if a video doesn’t exist that speaks volumes as well.

Seems like I c everyday where a city has paid a substantial sum for police misconduct . And oh BTW I come from a strong law enforcement background. And yes as the story on Mumme is written I would want to know a lot more before I decided who was at fault .

And those who know me would laugh at u calling me liberal.

Not liberal just know how things work in police departments and the real world. Dont ever assume because someone is charged they are guilty . That is not what America is all about.

i think the biggest difference between me and the above criticism is that I have sat around the FOP Hall listening to certain cops bragging about the arrest of various athletes and celebrities. Just want to b sure it’s not another notch in the holster situation before I judge .

Innocent until proven guilty is always the guide post....but in my almost 60 years on this planet drinking in hotels (heavily on occasion) not one time have the police been called upon to address my behavior. It's not unreasonable to speculate that Mummy the Dummy was out of line. Time will tell and the legal system will sort it out.

We’ll dumb ass, he pleaded guilty today, so I guess your dreamt up nonsense against the cops will have to wait for another day.

“Mumme pleaded guilty Friday afternoon during a court appearance. The judge waived court costs and sentenced him to time served.”

Mumme could have been a great coach for Kentucky, but unlike Stoops, who was also green and unproven as a Div I head coach, Mumme never grew professionally into the job (like all of us have to in order to be successful in our careers), he had one idea which he thought was brilliant and never adjusted his philosophy one bit in the four years he was at UK. And of course his career went straight downhill from Kentucky to now where he is 70 years old getting busted at a hotel bar in the early AM. Just pitiful.

Incomprehensible how stupid CM Newton was. Hiring this guy without insisting on an SEC level defensive coordinator. Any benefits of a new fresh offensive Innovation more than reduced by a joke of a defense

Appreciate your civility .

Looking back the Mumme years were the most exciting football I had seen at UK. Couch was phenomenal.
Would not change D coordinator. That killed him as well as his recruiting coordinator- although not sure he did anything others weren’t doing.
Remember back then that both Bob Stoops and Jim Tressel also applied for the job. They both went on to NCs.

Actually reading between the lines from experience which I have and u apparently don’t it was exactly what I thought it was . Two egos and one had a badge and gun and one didn’t .
He was allowed to handle by zoom, no penalty or fine at all . AMAZINGLY COURT COST WERE WAIVED WHICH IS PRACTICALLY NEVER DONE .
If He had actually hit an officer no way would it have been handled that way . Just a case of apissed off officer overcharging a defendant because he could .
I’ll bet Mumme as part of the deal agreed not to sue the city . I’ll bet the city atty said just get rid of it. I’ll bet Mumme atty said stop the bad press even though you think ur right u can’t win .
Difference in me and u is not that I’m smarter than you but I’ve been there many times and you being an internet tough guy haven’t .

I’ll bet…. I’ll bet…. I’ll bet…. AND you can read between lines. You have a very vivid imagination.
Enjoy prison.
