Don’t know how I missed this but KY is one king Andy signature away from lowering age for kids to get drivers permit down to 15. Made it thru legislature (republican majority) so guess if it passes you can blame both sides. Not sure I agree with lowering age.“The youth of Kentucky deserve, want and expect this,” said House Majority Floor Leader Steven Rudy, R-Paducah, who is the bill's main sponsor. I’m sure a lot of youth want and think they deserve to have a beer at age 14 too. We have a bill ready to lower that age too? Car crashes are the leading cause of death for 15 to 20-year-olds, according to the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet.

And andy just signed it into law a few hours ago 🤦🏻‍♂️.

Yes, they also have to have a certain amount of qualified driving training. Lots of states have that program. I was driving farm equipment and grain trucks when I was very young. Drove grain and livestock trucks on the highway at 12. Could operate heavy machinery before I was 14, it’s just what everyone did.

A lot of trade schools had mining classes where you learn to operate the machinery. I took welding but went on a few classes with the mining class. Got to run a pining machine, drill and a mining car underground. They kept us in the old works not far underground, only bad part was raising up too high and getting whacked by a mining pin in the roof.

Doesn’t this just lower the age to get the restricted permit to 15, meaning you have to drive with an adult? Seems like it just extends the supervised practice time from 6 months to a year and six months.
I don’t think it extends practice time, ..(edit maybe it does, it’s confusing)it just makes it sooner for everything to happen, which was stated goal they said to help parents not have to drive kids around as much to work, practices, etc. here’s my understanding:
With new law:
Permit phase: 15 - get permit, must have someone over 21 in car for 6 months

Intermediate phase: 15 yrs, 6 months - can have one person under 18 in car, no adult required

Full license phase: must be 17 and have intermediate for 6 months?

Before new law:
Permit phase: 16 - get permit, must have someone over 21 in car for 6 months

Intermediate phase: 16 yrs, 6 months - can have one person under 18 in car, no adult required

Full license phase: 17 yrs - no restrictions

UF vs Maryland in San Francisco, meanwhile Houston plays Purdue in Indiana, and then if they win they draw UK which might as well be a road game too.

LMAO.

NCAA is just special.

- From my understanding the kids say the permit last until 16 and then they can get the intermediate license.

So it makes the permit phase a year earlier but extends it a full 6months, and then the first license phase is 6 months earlier.

It isn’t so bad really, but as I told my 15 year old his testing time will need to fit my schedule so good luck with that.

- I would love a dude like dent running the offense, but I get the feeling he will follow Pitino Jr to X.

Nope...full license is still 17. There are two phases of "licensing" before you reach the no restriction age of 17. This essentially just lowered the permit/practice age.

Per CJ...

Under the new law, teens will still receive an intermediate license after 180 days with a permit, allowing them to drive alone with some restrictions. At 17, teens are then eligible to get full unrestricted driver's licenses.

Ok, i think you are right 😀

What's the best bang for my buck seat in Lucas Oil? Was at 2015 F4 and there for Zion and RJ ripping us to shreds, time to exorcise some demons in Indy.
No offense Catholic, but as someone who is a little "stitious', there is a common denominator here. Maybe shoot for San Antonio or better yet a regular season game and see how the Cats do. I say this as someone with a ridiculous set of rituals as far as clothing, food, what rooms I can go onto during a game, etc, to appease the Basketball gods. It makes "Silver Linings Playbook" look completely normal.

Yo @Franchise - what it do, You ready?

Cocktails at Libertine again? Expect to see you 🍻

GYERO Indy roll call? @Century Cat? Better have some goddam representation in here…you’ve had many years to sit out the dance, as have we all.

NOW is the time to get back involved. LFG!

GBB! 🔵⚪️
