Both teams look to want to run and play as little defense as possible.
Illinois has a big that looks like he’ll cause problems.
Illinois has the better players and would have a crowd as big as ours there or bigger. I prefer to play X.
Underwood looks like the guy from in bruges. Much rather have Xs 3rd game.

On average, our opponents shoot 43% of their shots from 3. It's one of the highest rates in college basketball. The game could come down to a 3 point lottery. The number of three's Illinois makes in 40 attempts may decide it.
Illinois has a likely lottery pick and another first rounder on their team.
Z’s brother is their 5 and is a good passer, shooter and rebounder. He’s bulkier than Z and could give Amari some trouble on both ends.

On the flipside, they can be ghastly. They are like us in Jekyll/Hyde behavior.

I see illini as our KSTATE redemption. We are still exorcising some demons.
I don't think crowd will play a role with the dudes on our team. Seasoned vets who have seen it all and been through one hell of a tough season.
I thought they were supposed to report such things. Would have been nice to know before placing a bet on him

I vividly remember the last time we played Illinois. It was in the 1984 NCAA tournament, Elite Eight. Illinois' best player was Efrem Winters (he had a poor game), and we beat them in a close one, mostly on the backs of Turpin and Bowie.
Me and a few friends rented a room at the Continental Inn (LOL) and had a kegger/watched the game. Things got out of hand, the authorities got involved, and we were forced to leave later that night. (and back then, it wasn't easy to get kicked out of that dump)

Marcus Liberty was supposed to be a generational talent when he was coming out of HS. I remember it shocked a lot of people when he stayed home and signed with Illinois (turns out later that he was paid handsomely to do so) Anyway, he was decent, but never approached the expectations (lazy, was the term coaches used about him a lot)
That 2005 team was pretty dope though with those three guards Dee Brown, Deron Williams, and Luther Head. Lost to UNC in the final.

Pretty weird feeling to win a NCAA men’s basketball tournament game.
^What? You must mean the 2nd half, we were f’ing atrocious the majority of the 1st half.

Last night was great, we were up 20 with 10 mins left. Haven’t had a blowout in the tournament since what? 2019?

Riley and Jakucionis are both FR so getting physical and being up in their grill will throw their timing.
Ivisic is a stud and Anari has to take that challenge on and prove something here. Everytime he has been challenged he has been up for it.
Butler vs Boswell will be bull vs bull, hopefully Butler is smart and doesn’t go after stupid fouls because we need him the whole game.
Those four literally play 36 minutes a game and if we run pace, which they want to do, we could tire them out.
