Losing Jaxson Robinson is pretty meaningful, imo.
It means a lot to me. Given the variability that can happen in the tournament, I do care about winning SEC titles and SEC tournament championships. It isn't all about March Madness for me. And I think that mindset is sort of jacked.Yesterday sucked, but it ultimately doesn’t mean much. Once the tournament starts, nothing that happened before means a damn thing. Bum teams go to the Final Four, great teams shit their pants in the first round - season narratives change completely. I mean, people remember the 2014 team fondly, but that team was infuriating trash until the tournament started, and they almost lost in the first round.

Well, we aren’t winning the SEC title. I guess we hurt our seeding for the SEC tournament, but that’s still a possibility. I like winning those titles but - if I’m being honest - I don’t know what they really mean anymore other than bragging rights for the week or two before the NCAA tournament starts. Hell, they seem to barely matter for NCAA seeding. It means a lot to me. Given the variability that can happen in the tournament, I do care about winning SEC titles and SEC tournament championships. Their guards were unconscious. We didn’t play great defense, but Kelly, Baker-Mazara and Pettiford hit a lot of contested shots too. I think Auburn played their A game, not quite A+ because Broome was off.If Auburn plays their A game, they're not getting beat by anyone. Too many weapons, too much experience. Haven't really given yesterday's loss much thought because of that.
I don’t see how you can say that Auburn played their A game because Denver Jones is one of their best players and he missed most of the game. And Broome is supposed to be one of the best players in the country and he looked awful for most of the game. I think they can play a lot better which is scary.Their guards were unconscious. We played like shit. 18 turns, with 11 unforced. That we didn’t get run by 30+ is actually pretty amazing.

FWIW, I am of a mixed mind about this. If yesterday’s game had been for the title, I definitely would feel more bummed about it.
Interesting philosophical point here; would you rather:
Clearly that's a rhetorical question as I would want the title. But if you looked at it as a four-month summation of the utility gained (or lost) watching UK basketball, the first option would probably make you the happiest.
- Overachieve all year, have a great season, go like 32-2 before the tournament, and then lose in the Final Four while playing a high-level game to another great team who is favored (not a rival).
- Underachieve all year, play uninspiring ball, go like 20-14, sneak into the NCAA tournament but catch fire in late March and win the entire thing.
My point is: I like feeling good in February and the bragging rights that come with it.
I was thinking about that as I wrote it and that's why I added "overachieved" and the point about losing to a team that was favored.Your first scenario was our 2015 team and that season sent me into a months long depression and I don’t even enjoy thinking about it or remembering that team most of the time. 2011 I remember very fondly and have even called it Cals best coaching job and I’ve seen replays of the OSU game and that one is even a worse result than your #2 scenario as they lost in the FF
Has the syphilis finally eaten the rest of your brain? Did you really make this post? Asking if this is actually a question?

Young'n, please. That's just ignorant.Nobody gives a flying touch, or remembers for that matter, how they felt about a team in February.

I need a good gummy to get through March Madness. Who was it that was touting a great product? Wynn? You felt pretty good about our team last year in February, no? How do you feel about them now?
I thought reading comprehension was a requirement for a lawyer. I was making the point that throughout the season the success (or lack thereof) of a team impacts our happiness / mood quite significantly. Over 30-something pre-tournament games, that's relatively significant in terms of time invested. Of course winning the title is more important and the easy choice - which I clearly said. But I didn't want to downplay the importance of being good during the regular season.Has the syphilis finally eaten the rest of your brain? Did you really make this post? How about this: a helluva a lot better than I felt about the 20-21 team. You felt pretty good about our team last year in February, no? How do you feel about them now?

Parker Posey in White Lotus is incredible. My wife and I quote her Best in Show lines to this day. Love her. 🐝
Am I the only person that likes our team in a tournament even without Robinson?
Zach Wilson: 2022- 13 starts 2334 yds 9 TD 11 INT and sacked 44 times.Josh Allen 2018 - 12 starts 2074 yds 13TD 12INT and sacked 28 times
Will Levis 2024- 12 starts 2091 yds 10 TD 12INT and sacked 41 times
