My SIL got a puppy Wednesday and brought it over for thanksgiving. My wife was furious. Her brother was mad too, bc he just bought a used pitbull and wanted to bring it over. But I’m a firm “absolutely no pitbull in my house” kind of guy. Nothing against them, I just don’t want my toddler to get mauled to death

Easiest way to keep a dog from chewing stuff up. Take a wide rubber band and place 10-15 thumbtacks evenly across it. Put the rubber band on whatever they’re chewing, points out.
The roof of their mouth is their most sensitive part. It won’t hurt them but they won’t chew on it again. That’s how we train bird dogs to handle birds with a light touch.

To keep a dog from getting aggressive or crazy. Take a 4-5 foot rope, tie a loop on one end, then run the other end through it. Place around dogs neck. When they get aggressive, just jerk the rope. It won’t hurt them and then give the “no” command. It doesn’t take long for them to figure it out. That’s also how you keep bird dogs from breaking hold and flushing birds too early.

Yes, I trained bird dogs, as we always had 20-30 that my family raised and I learned it from my grandfather. He had a National Champion and we bred him to lots of people’s dogs besides our own. Nothing beats watching a good dog, that’s trained right working like he’s supposed to work.
Also makes them worth a lot more money.

Good Lordt, Sloot. You did an actual 23andMe test…on your dog?!?

I mean, I love me some Sheppie (you know this), but come on, dude…

🤦🏻‍♂️

@CSC81, Wisdom Panel. It’s a very popular dog DNA test. We did it on Clyde too. He was mostly husky, German shepherd, wheaten terrier and about 10 other random breeds.

When you have a mutt, it’s nice to know what they are so you can train/work with them based on general characteristics.
