* Unsung hero of the early Reds season......Fernando Cruz. This guy was drafted as an infielder 17 years ago. Had 1,000 plate appearances in the minors before switching to pitcher. He's bounced around every league imaginable before finally securing an everyday spot in the big leagues at 33 years old, and has now discovered perhaps the very best pitch in baseball. He calls it a "gift from god," which is hard to disagree with.
