Vinsel telling us shit we already know BUT

1. Wheeler has deteriorated at the rim and FT line. Good news is he isn’t shooting as many pull-ups.

2. Livingston’s rebounding and halfcourt offensive numbers are some of the strongest on the team.

3. Toppin has been miserable offensively but a good rebounder.

4. Fredrick needs another shooter with him.

5. Rebounding sans Oscar is abysmal.

Oh Willy's defending a UK basketball coach that hasn't sniffed a Final Four in 7 years? Crazy.

Need to update this classic for sure. Cal has reached Tubby status. Willy is still The Flash right?

Other than Mark Stoops, UK Athletics' message to the BBN for the last umpteen years is basically "F*** You."

I refuse to believe that any teetotaller has ever told Barnhart's dweeb ass that "People who want to drink can go to the clubs at Commonwealth for that experience." Never happened, the lying shitheel.

This quote is worse, imo:

Our financial goal is to have resources meet expectations. When you come into a venue, you want to see the lights on, the scoreboard working properly and enough heat and air conditioning. It’s always about having resources meet expectations.

I’ve mentioned it before but Leach and I were pretty cool and on a first name basis in KW. He would often swing by my bar just to say hi and let me know how long he’d be in town. We sat down for over an hour or so 5-7 times at a bar just he and I. We’d have the most random convos (as I’m sure was part for the course with him with anyone) and just BS talking about everything.

He couldn’t care less that I was Joe Blow Kentucky Fan he was just happy to have someone to drink and talk too. He’d go 15 straight minutes often without stopping on a subject. Such a well-read and intelligent guy.

Big loss for the fball community that’s for sure and I’m happy I can look back at those times, fuzzy brownout for both of us I’m sure most times, and say damn that was cool man.

Heart goes out to the family and friends. Way too early for the captain of the pirate ship.

Fair winds and following seas, Mike.

There’s some rapper named “Divine Karama” in Lex, and after every single murder, WKYT goes straight to Divine and he gives some inspirational plea to stop the violence. He just had an incredible segment. There was no news report from the police, mayor, victims family. There was almost zero information about the murder itself, no suspects, nothing. No “please call this number if you have any information”. Just a bomb ass segment from Divine, with all sorts of quotes, and the news lady closed it out with “Divine has reached out to the victims family”. This dude is crushing it.

- took the kids to circus circus yesterday. Let them blow about a hundo at the arcade then watched a juggle show. They ate that place up.

Later that night we took them to Fremont to see the light show. Little boy (6) couldn’t take his eyes off the cowgirls with tassels on their nips. Hoping that means an early step towards being heterosexual. Never can be too sure these days.

Today went to lake Meade —> hoover dam. Man what a beautiful place. Even with all the satanic symbolism.

On from there went to the west rim of the canyon. Like most of you I’ve grown up seeing all kinds of pictures of the Grand Canyon but once we got there I was shocked at how awesome it is. I don’t really know what I was expecting tbh but the white snow contrasting with the red of the rock was a sight to see.

Heading to New York New York and passed momentarily.

That squirrelly little s***head Sam Bankman-Fried just got arrested. F him.
No idea why he wouldn’t have fled the country. He has money stashed surely and knew he would go to prison.

I mean, if I was going to prison for even a year or two I’d probably at least try to get somewhere else. I can’t do years in prison.

I did 2 weeks in Lexington jail and that was plenty for the rest of my life.

Most people do not know Mike Leach has a law degree. He has never been a football obsessed 24/7 kind of guy.

As bad as Mumme was at running an SEC program he sure in the hell was incredible at hiring assistants (defense excluded). Coaching tree has to be one of the best out there these days.

Toppin has ruined the term "athletic" for me -

UK still has time to mature and gel but the program has become a caricature of its past self

Mike Leach news is sad - hate to lose one of the few genuine personalities still remaining in what seems like an increasingly sterile , state aligned and pathetically bland landscape of college sports

The marine that joined our team this week is from Lexington and mentioned that the city signed an agreement with the USG in the 1940s that stipulated minimal municipal sprawl and a strategic decision to remain "a small city" --- obviously the horse industry had bearing on this but i wonder if anyone here knows anything about that decision and whether or not its ever revisited?

So Lexington - is permanently slated to stay within its current boundaries?

I still haven't toured a horse farm - now that i have younger family members under my roof i should make that a priority this spring --- im sure that would be a cool memory for a 7-10 year old

Merry Christmas you people - I still not quite ever discovered another website analog to this thread ....its like a Reddit-Microcosm with Kleats , Beer & Food Critics

Does anyone happen to know if the NCAA has released a statement clarifying their infractions committees' new role in the pay-for-play era of football?

Two brothers and me (literal brothers mind you) set a plan in motion last night to attend next year's Army/Navy game ....may revisit this joint for advice on down the road

Navy's NASA helmets were kind of disorienting - they looked like the NY Giants and the backstory (while pretty cool) - doesn't warrant the attention being placed on the agency as much as it does their alumni that became astronauts .....like put a Rocket on there with a # symbolizing the # of Naval Academy grads that went into the space pgm -- not the logo of NASA though

I'm 99.7% this is a niche issue & I lack a groundswell of support for the marketing miss (if ANYONE cares about this its HymanKaplan though)

Steelers had Baltimore!!

Did anyone else know that the Kansas City Chiefs ran the veer / wishbone offensive almost an entire season sometime around 1976?

John Stallworth had something like polio as a kid and couldn't walk - he was always a quiet sooken dude but his story about wanting to prove everybody wrong on the "crippled for life" diagnosis" is FKing Cool

The late 60s Colts franchise produced a coaching lineage with Don Shula, Marchibroda and Chuck Noll -- and i think Im missing one

Anyone else remember Kentucky and Tennessee playing a football game where both teams wore their home colors?

Haven't had alcohol since July 13th -
Its been terrifying, surreal and surprisingly rewarding in unexpected ways

Got cocky and claimed a ban on soda a month ago and made it 48 hours before turning into a wild eyed hottentot

I will NEVER --- EVER -- surrender my love or abandon my relationship with Carbs however ....Brandi lost 68# with Keto but i continued eating Mashed Potato Sandwiches with a side of Fries throughout her journey

Agree 100% on the Grand Canyon
I made a vow to NEVER use the word "Awesome" to deavive ANYTHING else ever again -- cause that literally WAS awe inspiring

Doesn't Arizona also have one of the most prominent meteorite craters as well -
thats two magnificently enormous testaments to insane levels of power unleashed

(Tunguska : honorable mention)

That sounds like something I would love and like a good place to start for next trip out here (we are already planning it). I didn’t know how the kids would do going to the dam and the canyon but they both acted relatively (compared to normal rowdiness) well considering how long we were either in the vehicle or the bus once we got to the west rim.

Also going to check out red rock next trip. Pretty bummed we didn’t get to do that today but we only had the car for the day and we stopped a lot to take pictures on the way to and from what we did today.

Next time out here we may just only do stuff like the meteorite and red rock. There’s only so much stuff on the strip outside of circus circus, fountains at the balagio. Maybe go up in the strat? Idk I love vegas though. This is only my second time out here and I keep finding stuff that I want to do. Just gotta drag the kids along with me

If Calipari makes a Final Four in the next two years but doesn’t win a title, and announces he’s retiring after the season and UK announced a send off at Rupp and advertised it as Calipari’s last public visit at Rupp as UK’s coach do you think the building would be packed? Like capacity with standing ovations?

5 Final Fours, 2-3 title games and a Natty…

I’m very high on Diet Coke and this is a Diet Coke thought.

"Devine Carama"...he is the director of One Lexington, a position created to help get a face and a voice to the inner city youth to try and curb the violence in Lexington, and to help them set goals for themselves. By all accounts, he is doing an excellent job, although I question the actual support from the community. "It Takes a Village" couldn't be more true in regards to helping him, and others in similar roles, tackle the problems they face.

Oh, he’s killing it. He’s literally on TV every day. Got a nice lil rap commercial. It’s really something.

We gotta do better, y’all. We must do better. It’s up to YOU to prevent gang violence.

-Leach passed away. Damn. That's brutal.

-I was way down a Leach rabbit hole last night. What a character. Shame he never made it back here because I feel like UK/Leach would've been a match made in heaven.

-I'm currently holding a very expensive bottle of bourbon for krazy that has me a bit anxious to deliver before one of my hooligan kids knocks it off a table or something.

-White Christmas possibility looking good. I can DEFINITELY get down with that. Was it last year that was like 70 and humid? F*ck that nonsense.

-Ate like an a-hole last Sat/Sun. Hard work out and 45 minutes in the sauna. Damn. Best sleep in weeks.

-Trying not to get my hopes up thinking about Leary to Brown/Key. Shesh.

-UK and Mitch are just antiquated with most of what they do. Crazy conservative, not reactionary, in for the long haul. That's paid off in some cases like; giving Stoops time to develop, not bankrupting our athletic fund(UL), having stability during covid, development of the "other sports"(if you give a shit about that). However, it's terrible for where we are right now. The NIL stuff is still a f*cking mess. This new BBNil is dumb. You're not getting 10k fans to jump... nor should f*cking you even attempt to put this on fans.

"Oh... we have NIL... our fans just aren't supporting it." Just absolute BS.

Fans are supporting NIL opportunities every time they buy a shirt, wait in line for an hour to get an autograph, buy season tickets, turn on the TV to watch anything UK related. But hey, let's ask them to give monthly to help pay for players. K. May want to take that one back to the f*cking drawing board. What they(UK/JMI) don't want you to know, is they're being selfish, and trying to keep the REAL money to themselves. Just like the NCAA has always done. They probably couldn't be happier that the NIL groups are struggling. Until Stoops, or UK, do what Cal has done and go find a group of motivated advertisers, we're going to be behind. Right now, there's just very minimal benefit to any of it. Regardless, hinting at the fans being the issue, ESPECIALLY FOR UK FOOTBALL, is absolutely ridiculous.
