Literally, the ONE SINGLE THING Cal has to do ---------> Roll the balls out.

I didn't even watch last night, don't really have any plans on watching more than 5 or so games before March, yet I'm still pretty pissed. I just cannot watch that man f up the beautiful game of basketball like he does. It's uncanny.

CJ, Reeves and Wallace less than two minutes together. 😂
I saw that. Absolutely inexcusable. The best potential lineup we have, should be the starting 1-3, and we literally didn't play it.

Reeves was +6 in his brief time on the court last night. He was the ONLY player outside of Oscar with a positive +/- and Cal forgot he existed down the stretch. For comparison, Ware somehow managed to be a -12. Wheeler -14.

The troubling conclusion I came to last night was that Cal thinks that Reeves and CJ are interchangeable "shooter" types and one should be backing up the other. That's what he thinks about basketball offense, that's what he thinks about those two guys.

That inbounds play at the end of the first OT was pretty amazing. Cal couldn't design something like this with a million tries.

What is most impressive is that Izzo had a quick-hitter press break in the playbook. Just on the off chance that Cal pressed.

Situational coaching wins game. A concept that Cal will never grasp.

IIRC BCG called something similar to win us a game. But, Cal is above this type of coaching. We're about ending generational poverty and making sure Collins gets onto the 2nd round draft board.

Playing fast in those situations ALWAYS benefits the offense. Cal would have tried to call 2 different timeouts and make 4 substitutions.

The worst part about all of this is that we will figure it out during the season and have games where we look every bit the potential juggernaut that we are. Then, much like every season since about 2015, March will come and Cal will be in a rock fight, shit down his leg horrendously and try to steer the conversation to the next year while lamenting what could have been.

We do this for the highs of beating good teams (UT, UNC, Kansas last year) but question why we do this because Cal will inevitably tank this ship. What used to be "let the cake bake" is now "get the damn baker out of the kitchen before he burns the whole house down".

Can we just skip to the part where Cal is the 1Mill a year ambassador for UK?

Wheeler (16) had more shots than Fredrick (7) and Reeves (7) combined. He also led the team in 3FGAs (tied Fredrick).

Is that bad? It seems pretty bad.
That's probably because Reeves and Fredrick weren't doing shit and Wheeler got us going. I want to see more Reeves too but he needs to do something while he's in there. He looked terrible last night.

Nah, GTFO with this nonsense.

Every other coach in America understands how to get their best players open looks. Meanwhile, Cal runs a bunch of floppy sets and expects Fredrick and Reeves to create looks for themselves.

Put CJ and or reeves at the top and let them create or have the screen. Grady did it last year when wheeler was out and he went off. When you have someone who can score off the dribble, shoot the 3, and have Oscar or Toppin rolling, that is very tough to defend. But what do I know, every other f’n coach in America does the same

My 8th grader's middle team scored 72 points in game where the quarters are 6 min long in their 3rd game of the season the other night. A damn middle school coach getting $1000 for the season understands how run an offense to get his shooters free.

A terrifying story from a few days ago. The mother and kids were at our house this past summer on July 4 as my wife used to work with the grandparents and became pretty good friends.

Life can be surreal sometimes!

We were so tense/uptight when it came to nut cutting time, it's why we missed those free throws and that is straight from Cal playing not to lose. Our offense has no purpose/flow/rhythm and passes rarely lead to a good shot. It's too easy to defend when one guy dribbles while everyone watches, then passes for the next guy to dribble around etc.

We were not ready?!? WTF was the Bahamas for?

That’s the whole point people are making. CJ isn’t a get your own shot type of guy but he’s great when you run sets for him. Run sets that get guys open 3s, you don’t just say, “Hey CJ we passed you then all and you gotta do some Steph Curry stuff and then pop a 3!” That’s not going to happen and Cal should know better. Running plays is still an actual part of basketball at all levels.

I hate Cal for many reasons at this point, but #1 is how his stubbornness and stupidity have tamped my once frothing-at-the-mouth-rabid fandom into dust. I want to care. I miss living and dying with every game. I miss scheduling my entire winter around basketball. It's so much effort to give a damn and it hardly feels worth it anymore.

F Cal, and F Top Button and anyone else associated with green-lighting the lifetime contract. Malpractice from the top down.

Whatever they ran for houser we should run for CJ. Don’t have to create an offense for him, just copy them.

A lot easier to run down screen to pop a PF out to the elbow/top of the key than to run that same down pick for a guard.

The one thing that really caught me about it was once it worked they ran it over and over. In my mind I can’t think of a time we did that since Quick/Maxey burned UL’s ass a few years back with the same down screen action.

Wallace missing FTs and throwing away the ball 2X didn’t help. Love that kid, but Jesus it was touggto watch.

In general, seeing the plodding offense was a way too familiar site… weave dump down to the block is required reading for almost every trip. Just terrible.

We should’ve run those fools. That’s a 10-loss MSU team.

He should have the ball in his hands instead of playing a passive role.

But my gosh, he’s ornery on D. Absolutely love that kid.

He and Tshiebwe are a helluva baseline for a good basketball team. Calipari better get it together.

Dekel Crowdus should actually accomplish a single damn thing on the field before calling out his coach, imo. If that came from C Rod, that would be a much different thing.

Wallace was the one damn bright spot last night. What a dumb take.

Better than our 3 returning seniors continuously shitting themselves down the stretch.
Oh he didn’t throw the ball away down the stretch? He didn’t miss free throws? Ok.

His first half was certainly better than the OTs.

Shove my dumb take up your ass.

I forget who, but someone on here has on a few occasions mentioned putting Barion Brown in a Wildcat package, and just seeing what happens.

Why not? Let’s go ahead and quiet fire Scang, ask Eddie to dust off his Lynn playbook from 2019, and go with it. If nothing else it would be worth seeing Georgia shit their pants on our first possession. And maybe Levis could end his career with some dignity and focus on getting healthy.

Is it a dumb idea? Sure. Is it any dumber than running out whatever it is we saw last weekend? No. We’re going to get skullf**ked regardless, might as well make it an interesting skillf**king.

Eff it. Just let Levis call the plays at this point. Could it go any worse than it is currently?

Brown is fast but man, bowden was a punishing runner. Don’t think brown could hold up. Bowden’s 6-7 game stretch or whatever it was, was arguably one of the greatest things in UK history. That season was toast and he saved it single handedly.
Stoops always leaves us in a jam if a QB gets injured. It’s the one of the most frustrating things. To be that inept at developing a back up just in case what typically happens actually happens.

He has feasted off Vandy, USC, Missouri, Florida and UT(the previous 8 years) being so far down. The next few years he is about to get his reality smack to the face. That’s my fear anyway. Either way. It’s been a cool run.
