Top 5 dudes who have played so far:

1. Reeves
2. Frederick
3. Anywenso
4. Wallace
5. Wheeler

-Feel sorry for Lance. That guy is allergic to bunnies, and now this Anywenso kid we brought in late is just so, so much drastically better. You can just feel the shift that happens on the defensive side of the floor when Anywenso comes in for Lance. Every shot 15' and in is being altered in one way or another. I see a year of mop up minutes and enforcer work for Lance, basically no change from last year.

-Let's be real, if his name was Jacob Fappin playing at Blumpkin U and and not Jacob Toppin at UK, that dude wouldn't be sniffing any first round buzz. His footwork on D is awful, his handle is loose butthole, and he's just not that skilled. He'll be Keion this year where one out of every five games he'll hit a bunch of fadeaways and jump shots saying Kobe! each time, but otherwise he is going to frustrate the hell out of us this season. ..Fappin.

-Oscar sounds like he's raring to go. Can't wait to see him with Reeves and Frederick on the outside and a slashing guard like Wallace or Wheeler. Let's gooo.

Bullitt East with the upset. Craziest damn high school football game I’ve ever seen.

Manual has some college level players, but their coach went for 2 the last 2 scores and failed on the last one with 30 seconds left.

28-14 to start the fourth, Manual scored 28-21.

East goes down the field and misses a FG.

Manual scores, goes for 2 and gets bogus interference call then gets the 2pt conversion leaving 1:50 on the clock. 28-29

East returns the kickoff for a TD and gets the 2pt conversion to make it 7 point game with 1:30 left and Manual has no timeout. 36-29

Gets to 4th and 5 from the 45 and the QB chucks it to the end zone, East safety and top WR cuts the pass off but the ball goes thru his hands and right into Manuals top WR’s hands for a TD. Goes for 2 again and fails. 36-35

Ball game!

We have so many good players that even playing mediocre without Oscar and Collins we thumped a decent team. Nice luxury if someone is having an off night to just plug in another player without losing a step.
Like the mix of the roster and barring injury gonna be the team to beat come March. Finally something to look forward to this winter.

Watched the MSU-Zags game too and not even worried about either if Oscar plays. Score should resemble the one we had tonight.

Friday Night Quick Hitters :

~ Vasectomy ystdy AM. Surprised by how nonchalant the surgery actually was. Valium helped. Some soreness today, but not bad overall. Richie wouldn't be happy, but I laid up like a mfer today.

~ Cal is clearly a good coach and, on the face of it, a good person (his charity work, affection for his guys, etc.) but it truly bugs me how disingenuous he can be about "breaking kids hearts". We went from a guy warning top 5 recruits not to come here because we can't hide you to forcing things like The Dragon and Ashton Hagans on the fan base. Keion Brooks, as good of a kid as he was, had no business shooting the percentage of shots he took last year. The same is happening with Toppin already. He's been primed all summer to be our next big thing and now Cal is going to force that hand and God do I hope it won't bite him. If Cal wants title number two here he plays Wallace, Reeves, Frederick and Oscar until the wheels fall off and work in everyone else. Hell, I wouldn't even be opposed to having Oscar play the four in some circumstances just to get UKO more floor time.

~ I could and will watch Casino and Monty Python and the Holy Grail all the way through whenever it is on. The same goes for Wrestlemania III (but I have to seek that out).

~ These blend them brown and chug them down smoothies are something else. Buncha Kale, blueberries, avocado, banana and some oat milk = good energy. Never been much of a health nut but I need to get my life in order and those things have helped.

~ Would love to see Levis and C-Rod sitting on the bench during the 4th quarter tomorrow resting up for next week. I'd also like to remind our OC that we have three really good pass catching TE's who thrive on PA.

* Wheeler with a smooth 11 and 11 on November 11th. His +/- was 32. The next highest was Antonio "Microwave" Reeves with 20. The kid has some limitations but a tough senior point guard is worth his weight in gold down the stretch.

* Toppin's problem is stupid shot selection and him trying to play shineball for NBA scouts. I think he's going to be absolutely essential down the stretch but Cal needs to threaten his minutes with Livingston and Collins if he keeps up those idiotic midrange shots.

From Kyle Tucker's latest article:

Calipari has cautioned Toppin not to get too cute in an effort to show off his improved perimeter skills. He scolds Toppin any time he sees him shooting “foot-kickers,” the off-balance, turnaround fadeaway jumpers that remain a hard habit to quit.

That nonsense was on full display last night. Withthatsaid, the guy is an outrageous athlete that gives us options that no one else can.

* Fredrick is only going to get better as he knocks the rust off.

Winter has arrived fast and furiously. Like a shit laden dump truck barreling downhill, and the methed out hillbilly at the wheel gives no f**ks. Oh well. We’ve had a hell of a run the past couple months, can’t complain.

My boys were just trying to convince me that they can wear flip flops to the game today. Told them to step outside and evaluate that decision. They came back in wide eyed, “dada, there was ICE blowing into my face.” They then voluntarily went and found their boots.

Really need something along the lines of 42-7 today. It will probably be more like 24-16, or whatever. But I will take win number 7 and be perfectly content. I have moved past the regret stage with this football season and will just enjoy it for what it is - a historically very good Kentucky Football season. I’ve sat through enough 2 win dumpster fires in my lifetime to be an ingrate. Also, it is the season to give Thanks.

Don’t freeze to death, Wildcat Friends.

When did adolescent boys lose all common sense when it comes to clothes and inclement weather? I see dipshits at my daughter's school wearing shorts and fleeces all winter long. Blows my mind, the idiots. Put some pants on and wear the GD coat your mother bought you, Tanner.

Christ.

And not that adults are even that much better tbh. People just do NOT keep proper clothing for all 4 seasons anymore. Drives me F'n nuts.

"There's no such thing as bad weather, only unsuitable clothing."

I’m more annoyed with Toppin.
At the game I feel like we got more out of Toppin than Ware. JT has a lot more athleticism, but he thinks he's Durant and plays like some cocky a-hole at the Y acting all smooth and missing all shots.

Ware played like he was hungover last night. Slow moving, couldn't get his hands on the ball, bad D. He went about 30 minutes into the game before he got his first rebound, and that is unacceptable.

The exciting thing is that our only apparent shortcoming so far is interior play/rebounding, and we have one of the best at that in at least a generation sitting on the sidelines ready to contribute.

Mom and I were just talking how she gave up putting winter clothes on me unless I wanted them. I wore shorts to actors theater in Louisville one January and she just said fine freeze if you want.

My children wear hoodies, shorts, and Crocs no matter what the weather is. And seem entirely unfazed by it. I don’t get it.

SATURDAY RANDOMS

* America's Top 40 with Casey Kasem was a damn must 4-hour listen to on the weekends. I couldn't make the Extrav today, but I'd like to send a "Long Distance Dedication" to their crew, Casey (no PTI).

* The early 80s HBO Feature Presentation opening credits scene will never be topped.

* Found about 10 VHS tapes that has nothing but America's Funniest Home Videos, Married...With Children, The Simpsons, and In Living Color on them.

I taped over a bunch of old home videos that my sister and mom are still red-assed about.

I still think Al Bundy and Marcy were banging on the side and playing coy (would that be the wording?) around Peg and Steve/Jefferson.

* "Sit, Ubu, sit. Good dog. *WOOF*" is the best TV show bumper ever.

* If you're asking me to pick a slow, romantic song to dance to, give me The Flamingos - "I Only Have Eyes For You" all/air.

* John Candy is a legend, but I think he shines as the second lead in movies. Splash, Brewster's Millions, Spaceballs...although Summer Rental is an absolute 80s hidden gem.

* Cats by 28 today, folks. Looking at parlays and Pick 3s at Churchill.

Also, at least in Lexington, the days of dressing even halfway decently to go to school are dead and buried. It’s all baggy sweatshirts and flannel pajama bottoms now.
I obviously don’t have kids but I don’t care what they wear to school, or what people wear in planes or how they dress in public, just doesn’t catch my eye. Hell, have you seen what college girls wear these days? It’s no different, pj bottoms or shorts with huge baggy sweatshirts all day.
