I honestly never felt like we were the better team, for a single second tonight.

Seemed like a pretty equal matchup for 40 minutes, and in my subconscious I felt like an underdog if I’m being real.

That’s hard to comprehend.

Wayne isn’t far off btw. We’ll make the tournament, but Without Oscar we are putrid.

I was being sarcastic.

Cal should have left 18 ****ing months ago.

He's senile, old, stubborn, the game has passed him by. He's Denny Crum, the assisted living years.

Even a basketball dumbass such as myself can see it.

The only thing that will save this season is if Cal has to go on medical leave for 5 months.

We honestly looked like we had zero clue what to do in those last 11 seconds. Both with the shot and no foul. That’s coaching, IMO.

When was the last meaningful game UK basketball won? It feels like years ago.

Auburn during the COVID year was a good win.

Actual, marquee win? Feb 2019 against UT at rupp.

Non conference? I legit couldn’t f*cking tell.

(If it’s not obvious, I’m trying to make your point)

Had no problem with the Ty drive. He’s the best offensive player we have.

I hate the timeout there - prefer it to go down as it did…he didn’t convert and rushed a little in his first game winning situation.

That play has nothing to do with the same old bullshit I just experienced.

I know I said earlier that he's stubborn, but maybe he just sucks now.

The coaching yips. Like Rick Ankiel forgetting how to throw a baseball from the mound to the catcher.

Immediate postgame thoughts:

- we just don’t run offense. It’s bizarre. I get that Cal is a “system” coach, but it seems like we should at least run something to get clean looks for our best guys, oh, I don’t know, 12-15 times a game.

- that said, the play to get Grady an open 3 in the corner was a thing of beauty. But he missed.

- feels like we are 0-25 on big shots in the clutch the last 2 years.

- either Cal doesn’t teach these guys defense or we have a team of dopes. We gave up so many baskets on simple blown covers defensively. Almost like this team doesn’t know you’re allowed to move without the ball on offense.

- take another long 2, Keion.

- obvious at this point that Wheeler can’t play in games like this (read: against well-coached teams who understand he can’t shoot or defend). Well… not with this scheme, anyway.

- gave up our customary two lay-ups on BLOB. Might be the difference in the game. Oh well - probably only the 7th or 8th time one could say that in the last 5 years.

- Notre Dame wasn’t doing anything fancy. Just spreading us out and taking us on straight line drives to the rack. Same formula we’ve seen beat us several times in recent years.

- Oscar is the only thing that might keep this team out of the NIT. Covers up a lot of mistakes and poor offense.

- Another loss in a game against a name opponent. Ho hum.

But Rick Ankiel knew he had the yips. This would be like having the yips and thinking you’re throwing it straight and the ump just isn’t callling a strike.

Disagree dK. Oscar is our best option regardless of what you're looking for. Leads us in ever statistical category and is as consistent as could be. I'd love to see Grady become a perimeter version of him but Cal doesn't know what to do with a player like that.

Only surprise is that Ware didn't get more minutes.
