- Deener's show was a damn wake. They were flying high off wins against Cuse and the Blue Devils and now they're faced with reality that they just aren't good. And the fact they could only muster 6-6 in a mediocre ACC with the marquee teams down. A coach that is right in that sweet spot of not being completely awful enough to fire but does nothing to excite the fans or attract recruits. Apathy staring them right in the face. Great way to start a Monday!

- While UK's game day experience crushed UofL's by far, have to say I'm extremely jealous of a setup like the PNC Lounge. No season ticket commitment or exorbitant donation required to enjoy food and booze inside. A few bucks more than normal entry but easily worth it for a tilt like this.

Six of us carved out a spot at the 50 yard line with two flat screens overhead to see replays/stats/etc. Wodie and his lass bouncing around with her crew along with seeing other folks you know from work / life. Perfect mixture of kinship and camaraderie.

Decided afterwards it's going to be a biannual trip, team records be damned. And really no reason every River City Cat fan isn't overtaking that stadium. Plenty of prime real estate always available for a reasonable price and with their trajectory, will likely be able to snag your seats at any area Kroger in '23.

- "Has anyone checked in on Mark Blankenbaker? He's at home and his wife is probably pegging him." 🤣BMW postgame show with a rousing edition fit for that annihilation.

- The past 3 Governor's Cup games we have punted that many times. That's one of my favorite, among many, comical stat lines since '18.

- Overpay Stoops, Marrow and Liam. More importantly build them a state-of-the-art indoor facility and whatever else they want. Treat the football program like an 80's cold war era arms race with USSR because really SEC 🏉money is no object.

- Surpassed all sales goals for the year so December's work effort is looking like a solid D+, at best.

* Can't really overstate how impressive of a runner Will Levis is. The Z-lister that was in the booth Saturday night made a Tim Tebow reference (with of course the caveat that he knows Tebow is considered by many to be the GOAT), but he's very similar. Levis just gets SO MUCH out of his athletic ability. He's incredibly decisive, and once he makes the commitment, he gone. He's tough, always picks the right spots, and sheds would-be tacklers regularly.

* Any of you meatheads follow this guy?

We've got a dude in Louisiana that's is so big and muscular as a distance runner that he Marcus Welby Mr Olympia when you see him running. But I saw this Nick Bare dude in Leadville and he was at minimum twice as big. Just an absolute monster, and he's planning on a sub-2:50 marathon.

* Weather is strange here in Denver. Highs in the 60s and 70s all week. Like McDonald's, I'm Lovin' It.

* So evidently people don't camp out in the freezing cold overnight then storm the doors of Wal Mart and beat each other senseless and get into all manner of physical altercations over a 26-inch television anymore on Black Friday? Damn.

Aside from the day after Halloween, that was the best social media day of the year.

* Two beers last night, both IPAs, and I wake up groggy AF with a slight headache. Need to stick with Miller Lite.

* Old person things my parents have done recently:

- been hounding the lass and I for a month about putting out our Christmas wish list. Because of the supply chain issues, you either order in early November or you're not getting it. I mean I'm basically asking for a book. And maybe like some wine glasses or something. #fingerscrossed

- have also been hounding us about picking a guest hotel for our May wedding, as evidently they are filling up and selling out very fast. My dad swears he's found hotels all over town that are completely booked up already. Uh huh.

* Morgan Wade = 🔥🔥🔥

* Ls down today, all day, airy day.

* My wish for this week, and/or what I think will happen in the future:

- Mark Stoops inks a new $8-10 million/year deal
- we have a couple more 9-10 win seasons
- he leaves in 2-3 years and we are in great shape to make the next hire

* Hope everyone gets a morning wake up call beej, goes to work and lands the biggest client of their career, stops by the liquor store on the way home and scoops up a bottle of PVW at the suggested retail price, throws up their max bench, congratulates their kid on being named valedictorian and opening their acceptance letter to Yale, and generally...

.......has a MEDIOCRE day.

* BTI has taken a big step back from KSR, from what I can tell. Which means their two worst regular bits are:

1> Freddie Maggard's AFTER ACTION REVIEW
and
2> NO RIGHT HAND DRIVES (whoever that idiot is)

* News of the motherf***ing day/week/year: it looks very likely that Turnpike Troubadours is getting back together after a 3-year hiatus.

False....unless you are just resigned to the acceptance of mediocrity, which many on here are, obviously.

More false....are you forgetting last season? Are you forgetting the 3-3 finish against piss poor teams (outside of UGA) He has had more fubars than successes during his tenure and it isn't close.

One of your more ignorant posts ever and everyone who liked it can hold that candle as well.
Proof positive that I'm 100 percent correct.

Took my daughter to see Encanto this past weekend for her first in-theater movie. Listed start time 2:15, time of opening credits, 2:55. I know to show up a little late but 40 minutes is ridiculous for a children's movie.

Movie was fine but Lin-Manuel Miranda is still writing jams.

- Not worried about OU for Stoops. Great program, tons of resources/$$$, etc., but the thought of being constantly compared to my uber-successful older brother, who sat in that seat for 17 glorious years, would be less than appealing. Matt Campbell makes some sense there. Bruce Feldman, who's pretty connected, lists Stoops fourth in his article about OU candidates, and actually insinuates that OU may go the coordinator route again.

Florida was actually the job that scared me more. Thought they'd recognize his natural recruiting ties in the state, familiarity with the league, minor tie with Stricklin, etc., and put him at the top of their list. Napier will do well, though.

The number of schools that I think Stoops would leave for is small and getting smaller, assuming Mitch pays. Day probably isn't leaving OSU for a while. Penn State just locked up Franklin. Iowa will probably turn things over to Ferentz's son. Harbaugh just bought more time at Michigan. I think LSU goes for a splashier hire. And I still think there's an out-of-nowhere hire that we don't see coming (maybe Matt Rhule decides the NFL isn't for him and comes back to land one of the premier gigs, etc.).

That leaves Notre Dame, where I wonder if Brian Kelly will eventually want to try his hand at the pro game. That's the one that scares me. Then again, Fickell would probably get first crack at that job.

- The fat kid from that new "Home Alone" movie was pretty good in "Jojo Rabbit", which I enjoyed far more than I expected to.

- Catching up on the first two seasons of "Narcos: Mexico" before hitting up the third. Glad to hear that there hasn't been a dip.

- First day of working from home permanently. I'm no techball, so it took me nearly an hour to get everything up and running properly. HAVING SAID THAT, I can wear PJs and listen to Rome every day, which is #WhyWeDoThis.

- Not sure what I enjoyed more about the BMW postgame show...the joke shared at the end, or Stat Guy repeatedly sharing Levis' UL stat line, apparently forgetting that he'd done so at least three times already.

"Cal's downward spiral" ? What does this actually include ? ONE bad year ? WTF are you suggesting ? He is terrible now ? Some of you MF'ers need to slow your roll on the over reactions. He signed a bad group and had an OFF year during a pandemic year. GTFO here with the "downward spiral" bullshit. Maybe you guys will be more happy if Oklahoma comes calling for Cal.

In a strange way, I have to admire his zeel. Imagine being a die-hard fan and hoping for the mothertrucking Gasparilla bowl. 😆

You just compared Marrow to John Robic?

(light day on GYERO. not too late to delete that before a bunch of people see it)

 not from what he brings to the table. From the fact he's the righthand man to the coach and will be going where ever Stoops lands.

His recruiting is the backbone of Piglets success here. You don't think Stoops would want that pull with OU or LSU's resources?

Go run into a tree.

If Stoops leaves, would it be out of the question to offer Marrow the HC position?
Been thinking this over and over in my head. Would it be the equivalent of our Ed O?

It’s crazy to think of it as a possibility and not have a clue what impact he has on coaching currently. His obvious recruiting advantage aside he is Stoops right hand man in every aspect as the Associate Head Coach.

Marrow : Stoops :: Robic : Cal

quoted for the history books

I got a lot of thoughts about Oklahoma.

I'll just say this: I'm instantly becoming a fan of whatever team Stoops goes to with a few exceptions....anything northern school that ain't Michigan, and most SEC teams. I really wish OU wasn't joining the SEC because I would have no problem rocking a OU hat and custom STOOPS TROOPS OU jersey. The dude has my support for life, and he's gonna crush it at OU, or wherever.

I got a lot of thoughts about gd Mitch, too. That nerd.

I have no idea if the big dog would be good head coach. His decision making in bowl game last year was not great as a play caller. I struggle with his grammar too.

I don’t buy that Marrow goes where ever Stoops goes to. Mainly because he was “close” to going somewhere last year and we gave him enough to stay.

I’ll go out on a limb here and say this about the guy that recruited us to hire him, and that’s that he see’s a bigger picture. That said his foundation is built, and because of Texas/Oklahoma we are rumored to be in a quadrant of UK/UT/Vandy and the 4th team being USC or Mizzou.

Why in the world would you leave that with a leg up on the next 2 classes already at a school you’ll be considered a legend for getting to any kind of consistent prominence?

Again barring Notre Dame, Bama, OSU or Michigan type offers his current situation that he built here is close to crossing over into a legendary kind of performance.

Why bother going somewhere that might fire you 1 year removed from a championship, 1 year removed from SEC championship, or any situation in the same conference that has any 2 of LSU, Texas, Oklahoma, Bama, Auburn or A&M if not 3?

That’s not to say those schools open aren’t historically better situations, BUT he has built quite a thing here. We are no longer fugazzi!

Stoops is 2 wins away from tying The Bear. Have to wonder (knowing he only needs 3 wins to become immortal in KY Football lore) if that weighs heavily on his mind or not.

Cal had the worst season in the history of the program. And the team he put together had better talent than 80% of the teams they played against. He’s running the basketball equivalent of the wishbone in 2021. It’s a downward spiral.

I ran to gyero to see PTI’s response to the Mets/Scherzer deal.
3 years, 130 million. That’ll be roughly 1.3 million per start if my math is correct.

I'm in the Marrow for HC corner if Stoops leaves. Stoops has been able to do what he's done, mostly on the efforts of Marrow's insane recruiting prowess.

Hire Marrow, give him a top-level budget to hire great coordinators and profit.

Giving a 37 (38 in July) year old pitcher a pile of money on a multi-year deal always works out. I don't see the issue here.

Marrow is great at his job because of his personality and the fact that he can talk to anyone and make them feel like they’re friends.

Great qualities as a recruiter, not sure how that translates to a head coaching position at this level.
