Today was the first morning I had to do this for a bit going to work

For the record I think they’d be better had it been Russ out as well. Those first 3 games were terrible basketball

Braves fans crying about the strike zone will never not be hilarious to me. Funny how they forget that for 15 years they got an extra 3" around the plate every single GD game.

God Bless you Eric Gregg
RIP Big Fella

Well to be honest there were a “few” of those pitches in the strike zone. Not many, but a few.

Looked like me back in the day calling a 12yo game. Any pitch remotely close was a strike. I did, however, always let both teams coaches know before the game that I had a wide strike zone. Otherwise it would be a walk fest. Swing, batter, swing

The Lakers are just following the trend of those past Cavs and Heat teams that just exploded with runaway success every time Lebron stayed on the bench.

Hugely impressive OT win the other night over a juggernaut Spurs squad, and then a tough, well played loss tonight to the spunky, 20 win hopeful, Dort-led Thunder. 'Bron should rest up some more and let his boys keep that gravy train rolling.

- Got a cabin at the Gorge last weekend with the wife and three other couples. Hiking, firepits, food, hot tub and premium bourbon (Weller 12, 2019 Birthday Bourbon, Elijah Craig 18 Yr, Rock Hill Farms). Couldn’t have enjoyed myself more. Perfect weather. Easy to see how so many people fall off cliffs there, tho. We live in a beautiful state.

- RE: Theo Von. Brings me back to a simpler time when people went on reality TV shows in a feeble, mostly misguided attempt to further their careers. Nowadays, all these losers just want to become some piece of shit, low-life Instagram influencer.

- Westbrook plays hard. He seems sincere. He’s well-liked by teammates. So, I like the guy but he’s not a winning basketball player at this point in his career.

- I’ve heard way too much Heupel for SEC COY talk. Like wtf- do you not see what’s happening in Lexington?

- Recruiting is certainly still important in college basketball but the need to fill that last piece in the fall, especially at center, is less important than ever before. We get Bona, great. We don’t, well a 1st Team AA big was around last offseason. I’m sure there will be some decent, experienced bigs again this spring in the portal.

The NBA is so fun to watch, I don’t see how real basketball fans don’t watch it but still put up with the college product.

Tonight the Knicks vs Chicago. Both teams stocked with good young players that are fun to watch.

That is followed up by Ja vs Steph.

Plus I got a new bottle of Breuckelen 7 year 100% wheat whiskey today, plan to be sitting on the patio(covered) with a fire and the sound of the rain.

For me, and I'm sure many others, It's less about the quality of the product, and more about it being Professional Sports vs College, where most of us have REAL rooting interests. Not to mention all the 'extra' stuff that make College Sports great.

I love the NBA, follow it closely...but when it comes to watching actual games, i watch 5000% more CBB, despite the NBA being the farrrrr superior actual on-court product. The super late tips don't help the NBA either.

Just like the NFL is a higher quality product than CFB, but all the 'other' stuff makes CFB the absolute best, while I don't watch more than a few minutes, if that, of the NFL weekly.

I'm sure the above ratios would be a little different if I had a hardcore professional rooting interest...but I don't, so College Sports ftw.

I grew up watching college and never had a diehard professional team because I didn’t live in a major city with one. It’s pretty much as simple as that for me why I prefer college and watch virtually no pro sports. I loved MJ growing up, but that was about it.

Trick or treat tonight with the kids. I’ll be capt hook, my son Peter Pan, my daughter tinker bell, my baby the alligator, and my wife Wendy. As incredibly stupid it is, and how amazingly dumb I’m going to look, I probably have about a 3 year window of this nonsense to enjoy and I will. The kids have about a 30 min tolerance for trick or treating at the moment as well which is fantastic, frankly.

Why TF would you move trick-or-treating to the Thursday before Halloween? After 2 years of Saturday trick-or-treating I wouldn't be mad at doing it on the last Saturday of the month, but a Thursday?

Where I live it’s always Thursday and never on the weekend due to drunk driving or some shit (don’t really remember the reason). It’s great actually, I take tomorrow off and my kids catholic school is closed so it’s an awesome start to a 3 day weekend.

Terry Crews was sexually assaulted and didn't clock the person who did it. It's not just "fight or flight," freeze is another very common and normal reaction. Not fighting back is a huge source of guilt for victims of sexual assault. You cannot know what you would do until you're in the situation. Of course you hope you'd kick the person square in the taint, but you can't know.

*Out for NYC because of work, However, another weekend in Lexington will work just fine.

*GYERO Vegas hotel of choice? Looks like the Cosmo is booked. Runner(s) up?

*McRib came out yesterday. I was just depressed enough to get one. Magically awful.

*No Halloween for us this year. My 11 year old girl is going to KI with a friend and my 16 year old boy hasn't been interested in years. Enjoy them while you can, parents!

*Louis CK worked in the NHL?

*Theo Von - His stuff on youtube that he incorporated on his special is better. Same stories told better, imo.
"Now how many black people are you fighting? As many as your imagination allows." Or something like that.

*Max Fried has been hit hard his last two starts. Hopefully he can make up for this shit G6 or G7, if it goes that far. Braves in 7.

I think the thought process is usually "they already took this from me, they can't have my livelihood, too." That's a huge reason why it's such a huge deal when anyone in a position of power is the assaulter (i.e. Weinstein getting actresses blackballed). Or, consider Mike McQueary. He wasn't assaulted himself, just witnessed it--and it was so awful it basically broke his brain and he didn't know what to do with the information for years, since he was a baby coach and knew a) everyone will believe Paterno's right hand man over him and b) it could end his career and follow him the rest of his life.

There aren't many easy answers where this is concerned. I think it's good people are asking questions about it and trying to figure out how to handle it better, which is why I clutter up gyero every time the subject comes up :p
