If you didn’t like 98, 99, 00, 03 and 05 when most of us were on campus at some point then I feel bad for you, honestly.

80 proof, if it were that easy it would have been done. I promise I’ve looked into every easy option. Water hose it is, and I guess if we set the pool by noon tomorrow then it will be filled sometime Friday.

Do not believe the internetz.

Tubby was the coach during some amazing times for UK basketball and some amazing times during college for me. He left in a classy way and has been absolutely nothing but class his entire career. You tell a lot about a person by how they end relationships and, like the gentleman he is, he did it right.

That's going to be a tough ticket to get. Hopefully Merlene Davis is in the house.

How do any of you fellow friends, who are self employed, deal with customers who call at all times of the night? I guess I understand if you are in the heating & air business/farm implements, and someone’s air /heat has gone out or tractor quit, but I work on watches and clocks (obviously, but not a necessity). People call me at all times of the night and I just don’t get it.

Dude just called me about a 100 year old clock I got going a month ago that has lost 3 minutes over a weeks time. At 7:45 at night. I used to have a customer that would call at all times of the night about her jewelry (when I did jewelry repair) but she was a pill head that was up all night. My rule is never call after 5 or on weekends if I’m having work done. Maybe I’m wrong.

Lol, managers rotated on call nights back until about 6 years ago. Meaning, we took all calls coming in. That late night crowd was something else.

"Hey, I need help programming my thermostat, can you do that?"
"M'am it's 3:30am. I can send a tech out tomorrow bw 9-12a."

I don't miss that at all. Finally got to the point some nights you wouldn't get any sleep. So we hired overnight CSRs.

Plenty of overnight call services out there. Forward those calls to one of them or just get a 2nd phone.

Proud to say I work in an industry where “thanks for reaching out. I should know something by tomorrow” is almost universally acceptable.

Indeed, they just mostly took place in smoke-filled off campus apartments.
Having lived there at the time, The Commons on Red Mile seemed to be especially entertaining/attractive to that crew. Could’ve sworn they lived over there themselves if everyone didn’t already know they were put up in the Wildcat Lodge.

Not all of them.

They beat UNC, UL and IU. The Cards and Heels were by 20. The UNC game was the Tayshaun game. We beat Florida twice while they were ranked top 10. I was fortunate enough to attend the UNC and Florida games. Rupp was beyond electric for both. The Duke game was great too even though we lost. We got the Carruth we all craved and it took a career night from JWill to beat us.

The highlight was Tayshaun mimicking Jack Givens in the second round. Both scored 41. Both wore 21. Both were small forwards. Both were left handed. Both did it in St. Louis. Only difference was one game was for the national title while the other was for a chance to play the eventual national champs.

They were a huge disappointment but still managed a Sweet 16. They were a forgettable team but far from the worst.

They did live over there, they were renovating the players lodge that year.

They lived directly above some fraternity brothers of mine that sold weed. They all a symbiotic relationship, true free market capitalism in action.

Technically I can throw that line out too. Let me think about it and I’ll call you back. But that’s not the point. How about you call me during reasonable business hours. I mean we are talking about a fu*^ing clock. Not your air/car/tractor/whiskey/running shoe.

Team Turmoil really blew my mind on campus. I mean on one hand they were doing the same stuff I was at parties, fake IDs to get in clubs, driving around drunk, smashing as many white sluts as they could and smoking as much pot as they wanted.

OTOH, THEY WERE DOING THE SAME STUPID CRAP AS ME!!!!!

The one guy I always thought was better and could have been a beast under different coaching was Desmond Allison. Really a damn shame he died over a flat billed hat!

-If I don’t know the number or it’s not a friends/family call, try this, don’t answer.

-Pretty happy about the Dodgers win. I’m pretty hopeful Bernie keeps this approaching legendary run going.

For as nice as a guy that Tubby was, the guy had no control over his players antics. There was constant shit going on with the guys. Was literally in line at Varsity Blues while they were trying to get in like morons. Jules jumping in the backseat with that DUI. Carruth, Allison, I mean it was constant shit with either drugs or acting like idiots. Have always admired how tight a ship Cal runs.

That is actually the reason I hate Saul. I may be wrong but that kid seemed like Tubby’s “everything is ok because my son is with them” meter that couldn’t have been more off.

I’ll never forget living on University and Jason Parker wobbling out of the volleyball girls house in broad daylight on crutches and a 1.75 of Vodka and Saul pulling up as his ride.

Right or wrong, I always felt EVERYTIME something stupid happened Saul wasn’t on cleanup duty.
