No matter what happens tomorrow (because the bracket will already be completed, probably), I don't see anything better than a 5 seed. The media is already clamoring for 8+ ACC teams and the Big 12 has suddenly become the best conference in basketball according to the talkin heads. Kansas and UNC are both headed for 1 seeds. Their conference rivals Texas Tech, Duke, Clemson, among others will be seeded higher than a 4. Then there is Michigan State, Michigan, and Purdue. Throw in Zona. That leaves the Cincy's, Gonzaga's, Xavier's, and other middling conference heroes to snag up the rest of the 2-4 seed lines.

And make no mistake, UT will be seeded higher than the Cats tomorrow no matter what happens in these next 24 hours. Probably Auburn as well! Go ahead and get lathered up, Wildcat Friends. It's a tradition!

* Gang, today's game - like any games this week for a team that isn't on the bubble - is utterly meaningless. At least in terms of seeding. Whatever we were after we lost at Florida, that's what we will be on Selection Sunday.

But in terms of having the team start looking good at the right time...this will work. John's digging the SEC Tournament this year. Most years it's a necessary evil. Work's being done in this one.

* My parents, God love them, have affectionately referred to Wenyen Gabriel as Spaz for the last 2 years because they're bullies from every early 90s kids movie. They could not have foreseen this. And neither could I. Is that the most makes from three without a miss in program history? I want to say it is.

* <--- Gives a passing wave at Strokin' for predicting that the rebounding void left by the injury to Jarred Vanderbilt would be filled by making shots. One offensive rebound today, 23 point win.

* Hami Diallo running up and putting Gabriel in a rear naked choke during that interview with Laura Rutledge is one of the reasons why I haven't been as hard on him as a lot of people have. I appreciate gestures like that. When he's on the bench, he's the first guy on his feet waving the towel. Whatever issues exist with his game, it's game only.

* Not breaking any new ground here, but they're damned good when they make threes. I mean, better than the gap between most teams hitting threes vs. not hitting threes, probably because we've attempted so few of them.

* We really making 9-loss, ACC 6 seed North Carolina a top seed if they do basketball a solid and beat Virginia tonight? This season is on PCP.

* 2-0 since the game passed John by. No regrets.

Time for tacos.

If Georgia really wanted to win they’d say f*ck it and hire Pitino. Someone is going to at some point, I guarantee it.

Not to go all 73, but I've been to Athens a bunch. I can tell you for sure, they don't give a flying F about basketball. As far as they're concerned, it's a sport for queers and N words.

They could dig John Wooden out of his grave and it wouldn't matter. If you're wondering why they allow Mark Fox to toil around in mediocrity for a decade, that's pretty much why. They don't care.

Learn staph aureus. Symptoms can occur in 30 minutes.

Unless you think the CDC also has no idea what they are talking about.

Back to your hole.

So you're able to determine that *this* is the type of "food poisoning" you had, even though you ran no tests to prove it, and that it is but one of many possibilities, many of which are as likely or even more likely to be the cause.

Good work, doctor!

If you’d like a stool sample, I’d be happy to leave one on your face.

Bring on the Vols.

Cayts.

Mentally preparing myself for tomorrow so my head doesn’t explode while working when a 5-loss (including 2 losses to a 1-seed) team gets bypassed for a one seed for a 7-loss team and a 9-loss team, by virtue of their conference tournament championships while simultaneously being told that the SEC tournament doesn’t matter. Because it’s going to happen.

Apparently this year they're stretching the selection show another hour, first they're going to announce the field, and then they're going to announce the bracket. Unless that was a rib or something. No matter, I've watched my last selection show. Would rather just get all the redass out at once than have it snowball while Seth Davis embarrasses everybody ever named Seth on national TV

Yeah, I heard the same thing. Because, you know, why not stretch out the experience for teams that just got back from conference tournaments and need to make plans to turn around and leave again.
Meanwhile, go Friars!

What a bs foul call on Providence to send Brunson to the line to tie the game. Sucks when officiating changes a game like that

Is BeaveUKGT a food poisoning lobbyist/truther somehow. What does “Big Pepto” want to hide from the general public?

He is really holding doc’s feet to the fire on this, daggone.

Two reasons, really.

One, I've encountered some really lazy-thinking doctors who couldn't reason their way out of a paper bag (with serious consequences to my health resulting from their lack of critical thinking skills). So I get annoyed when I see it, even in totally harmless situations like this.

Two, it's fun to poke Dr. Bob. This is GYERO, after all. Pick a nit and CRUSH that little bastard.

The pace in this WKU Marshall game is fantastic. A thousand times more fun to watch than Virginia.
