- Drove from NC to Dallas...left at this time last night, got here at about 4pm.

Awful drive, especially through Arkansas.

- A tornado apparently touched down outside of Memphis while I was driving. Parked under an overpass with some people. Scary shit.

- Tornado sirens freak me out.

- Watched the UL-Wake game with Wake Forest great Chas McFarland tonight. He still hates Boogie.

- Dude is living the life, didn't even play in a big Euro league...played pro ball in Japan and South America seven months a year for eight years, now retired...living in the Dallas suburbs with all kinds of cool toys.

Golf - I grew up playing here and there but didn't enjoy it and haven't picked up a club in 13 yrs. I'm competitive as shit and suck ass so when everyone is on the green and I'm stuck in the woods it really gets to me. Guess I need to get over it and just learn to enjoy being outdoors with some buds
Anout 8 years ago I was so pissed off during a round I threw a club. I was with 3 of my best buds and supposed to be having fun but being competitive like you I always got so angry being terrible at golf. At some point I always threatened with "Let's go play basketball after this and see what happens." Realized I wasn't being fun to be around.

Now I don't play golf a whole lot but enjoy the hell out of the time with my buds when I do and just own the fact I'm not very good.

Did Lexington to Tucson once before on the way to my dads when he lived out there. Arkansas is AWFUL. I mean it looks like a flat mud hole the whole way through.

Closed the 4am bar last night opened my other bar at 1030 this morning (yesterday technically) and then worked 7-4am tonight as well on 4 hours sleep. It was rough but killed it and happy to have the next 3 days off.

I'll have the boat out tomorrow and getting it primed for next week when the lady friend and her spring break gal pals arrive. Excited to get it out with a stable of smokeshow hussies. Just put in new speakers that are clear as day while on plane. IG pics from Snipes sandbar should be on point.

Guess their # 1 seed is gone
#2 seed is probably gone
# 3 Seed as of now....

Lose in ACC Tournament? #3 seed prob gone with 8 losses

But regardless this man is forging ahead in a 750SqFT with what the CARDS need to do....which is LISTEN to HOFCRP

Guarantee it HOFCRP will brainswash DONNIE for his own good and provide some bullshit about providing the necessary tuteledge to be a point at the next level. He can also improve his junk zone defensive skills.

DONOVAN needs to come back another year IMPROVE consistency and lead us he could be a top Louisville man

There's almost no chance that kid leaves. If he comes back, they will be flat loaded for next year. I'd say they are preseason number one with him back. Of course, the NCAA could change all of that if they choose to do so, but I have zero faith in that happening.

Draft Express with Mitchell at #24 right now.

Any guard that has second thoughts of going needs to Look at Terry Rozier. Pitino begged him to come back and he declined even though he was a top 20-30 prospect. His career has been just fine and would gained NOTHING from coming back.

BUT they can always point to how well MEGA improved his three point game in returning to school as a true Cardinal.

False. All last night did was bump Wake Forest up to a 5 seed.

Pitino acted like such an unprofessional bitch with that Rozier situation. Announced he was leaving in a pissed off press conference. Was flippant about it. That kid was legitamately hurt by that. He wanted to have his own day and said he hadn't even told some of his family and friends about it.

He did the same thing with Onuaku last year

BUT dont forget he then landed HIGH flying DAMNION and smooth butter TREY who both excelled in the RED and WHITE and now have RINGS to show for IT

HOFCRP had their back when TERRY decided he wasn't a LOUISVILLE MAN

You can save yourself a lot of disappointment by making the following two assumptions:

1. Everyone else's players, unless they're projected in the top ten will come back to school;

2. All of our players, who actually play, will leave their freshman year if they're in the first round and after their sophomore year if they have a pulse.

It would be nice if Cal did something like Coach K did back in the day and pushed a program where guys could graduate in 3 years and then hit the NBA. Could be good for a Briscoe, Gabriel, or Humphries who are going to be pros but could be borderline NBA players.

In good for the state news, here's hoping the surging NKU Norse make the tournament in their first eligible year. Cool new arena. And John Brannen is a great guy who knows his basketball.

Thursday Shorts:

- A lot to ask but would love to see a complete game on Saturday.

- Lass is out of town for a girls trip so grabbing some beers with my boy ABH and catching Duke@UNC Saturday night. Thinking Smoke Justis if anyone wants to join us. @B.B.d.K.?

- I love my dog so much. 10 month old. Chews up some stuff but never barks. Just a really good boy.

- Norah Jones is coming to Cincy, but on the Thursday the NCAA starts so can't make that one. John Mayer is also coming to Cincinnati but will be at a wedding in Vermont that weekend.

- Gap and Banana khakis are fine for us basic bros.

- Ashes and first fish sandwich of the season yesterday. As far as fast food, can't beat Frisch's.

-It's funny the khakis thing just came up. I've been considering a quasi-retirement from jeans for a couple months. I just can't find any that I like anymore, and have been reaching for a casual pair of JCrew khakis I have far more often than their denim counterparts because they're much more comfortable and they're better looking IMO.

I'd certainly keep some jeans in my closet, but everyday wear think I'm going to go khakis from here on. I think there's an older regular here that does the same. Cawood, maybe?

-MIL coming in town Saturday morning. I've supposedly been given a 24 hour pass. I f'n need it, but am skeptical. Nothing comes for free in this world...

-My old man has been working out at LA Fitness for the past month or so because his insurance pays for it. Looking into taking some classes at UofL as he can take up to 6 credit hours free each semester. He's either going full liberal arts studies or daring to take some complicated math courses. I told him to stick with things that'll make him more interesting at cocktail parties so he keeps getting invited to them as a bachelor.

-Need to land the plane Saturday. Like I've said before, just keep winning, I guess. F em.

-I enjoy Neil Diamond a lot. Sue me. Solitary Man FTW.

-May get a fire going out back tonight and drink for a bit. Seems to be a nice respite for old SAE.

Thought long and hard about hitting a Jimmy Eat World show downtown last night but it didnt even start until 10 and who stays up that late on a school night. Saw them a few times in college back at Bogarts- looked to be just about the exact same set list as they played almost 20 years ago. Also was a bit restrained at the thought of being an old guy showing up at a concert by myself.

+1 for khakis over jeans for the most part. I do like to rock my denim doing yard work.

Yard work: Aerating and fertilizing this weekend. READY to get rid of some of these little weeds and get things back in check.

My niece's spring break is this week... little early, no?

- Bam has done a great job staying out of foul trouble the last couple of weeks. Impressive considering how he's rebounding and the only big we have.

- Love the story about Hawkins checking in the Sweet 16 game vs UL and immediately giving Russ Smith the biz.

- Been really down on Fox the last month or so after loving his play up until the S Carolina game. Some of it has to be in his head. Want to give him the benefit of the doubt with these injuries. Did like how he was much better on Tuesday fighting through the screens and hedging. Hopefully those buckets down the stretch against Vandy will spark his confidence. Enough with the ball getting stripped.

- Getting that March fever. Getting up earlier with more pep in my step. Blasting tunes on the way to the office. Saw some K flags on cars whistling by while walking Rupp this mng.

- Lass has a hen gathering tonight. Some ridiculous gift exchange or something. I'm on my own so taking the Lil lassy with me somewhere for dinner and a few casuals.

- Going the Anth route and paying a professional to some landscaping. Mulch, taking out some dead
trees, and shrubby bushes in the back. Establishing some definitive mulch beds. Overall fine tuning. Repairing some brickwork. Planting some azaleas and hostas.

I don't mind mowing, blowing or trimming. But with the little one and other stuff I want to do on my free time I find the landscaping piece a good investment.

- Warm weather ball but give me a few more days with the sun shining like today.Feel like I was deprived an actual winter.

- That Mick Cronin rant was solid. Valid points.

- Great pic..

Derek and Wenyen on the floor at the same time is great. But I need Isaiah or De' running point if Cats do that.
I believe you meant DDDDDDDDDWIIIILLLL, Zay and Swipa.

It would be nice if Cal did something like Coach K did back in the day and pushed a program where guys could graduate in 3 years and then hit the NBA. Could be good for a Briscoe, Gabriel, or Humphries who are going to be pros but could be borderline NBA players.
Need a sarcasm clarification.

-Just keep winning. Don't care about the margin. Just keep winning. Love to see them justify a 5 loss Kentucky team not being a 1.

-LOL @ UT.

-UF looked good... again. Maybe we're on to something here.

Great call, Rich. Completely overblown that I can't do those type of thing, fact is I'm actually really good at that shit, I just don't feel like doing work when I'm not at work and I get no pleasure out of it. Plus, it will look good b/c a pro is doing it. Win/win. Congrats.

Good God it is. I40 in Arkansas has to be the worst stretch of road in America. Made the trip multiple times from Dallas to KY. 2004 right before Christmas was especially awesome since an ice storm was coming in right as we were leaving 2 days before Christmas. Freeway in Texas was fine but it took 8 hours to get from Texarkana to Little Rock where we were forced to stay in a shitty ass hotel with no hot water only to take another 8 hours to get from Little Rock to Memphis the next day forcing us to spend Christmas Eve just outside Memphis. The rest of the way was fine. What a shithole.

Fox definitely got his handle from Dora The Explorer. When that show debuted, he was 2 years old.

o_O

Easy to forget how young these kids are.

Stolen from RAFTARDS but good info-UK 9 wins against RPI top 50 and 2 against TOP 5

When compared to the presumed #1 seeds. I know it's fluid, but as of today, our resume is pretty damn good. Georgia found their way back to RPI #50, giving us 9 top 50 wins. We also have 2 top 5 wins (UNC & UF).

RPI
Nova - 1
North Carolina** - 4
Kentucky - 8
Kansas - 2
Gonzaga - 11

Top 50 wins

Nova - 10
North Carolina** - 9
Kentucky - 9
Kansas - 8
Gonzaga - 5

Worst Losses (sub 50)
Nova - at Marquette 58
North Carolina** - at IU 89 & at GT 93 [roll]
Kentucky - at UT 80
Kansas - IU 89 neutral court
Gonzaga - BYU 69 home

Strength of Schedule
Nova - 32
North Carolina ** - 24
Kentucky - 18
Kansas - 35
Gonzaga - 101 [poop]

I researched this because I'm still seeing in places where some folks are pushing the narrative that UK should still be a 3 seed. Not sure how you slot UK as a 3 when our resume is better than UNC's who is projected to be a 1 seed. We have a better record, better SOS, beat them H2H on a neutral floor, we have 2 top 5 wins, their best win is RPI 6 Louisville, and they have 2 losses worse than our stinker at UT. If they get a 1 seed, it will be a travesty, and only because the ACC is getting a courtesy 1 seed.

Samardo Samuels is who I always think of when it comes to the cautionary tale of playing for Pitino. Top 5 player out of HS, was said by many experts to have been at Top 5 pick if the draft still allowed HS kids to make the jump. Two years at UofL and when he makes noises about entering the draft, Pitino rips him to everyone that will listen, that he's soft, doesn't have the skills to play in the league, anyone drafting him is a fool, etc. Then draft night comes and Samuels falls to the second round and then Pitino pulls the "well, it was a bad decision, but we wish him the best of luck." NO you don't, it became a self-fulfilling prophecy when his coach is telling everyone don't draft him. Just a total scumbag prick.
