Kacey Hill gonna go nuts again this weekend? (Rhetorical question, the answer is obviously yes)

I've always said that the waffle house method of employees screaming at each other and then your meal automatically coming out prompt and delicious is as impressive as it gets for the line-cook genre. Vanilla Coke just adds to the greatness.

Arriving early evening Friday so I can take my grandmother to Bingo at Wildwood. I wont just be buying cards and dobbers and loosely participating. I plan to win at a big clip.

Like the 2PM tip time Saturday. Enough time for a few pregame cold ones but leaves the rest of the day/night open. Rumors that Bonzo is sneaking into town, too.

I'll be missing (watching) my first entire Kentucky Basketball game -- honestly that I can remember in my entire adult life -- on Saturday. Went ahead and signed up for a little Icebreaker Golf Tourney this morning that I'd previously declined b/c I'm a loser who plans my entire life around UK Athletics.

Really have no feelings about it either, which is kinda weird/sad, but it's whatever. Much needed lesson today at 12:30. :)

Be coaching my 7 year old's Upward team during the 1st half of the game so should be in a FINE mood to catch the second half, already redassed about the home floppy haired assholes.

Was doing some youtubing on how to make easy, healthy weekday breakfasts, and found some restaurant chain in Cali called Eggslut that features quick egg samiches with videos on how to make them.

I sent them a letter telling them that they need to add the "BBdK" to the menu: an eggwhite omelet spitroasted between the darkest pumpernickel bun available with a side of gravy.

Haven't heard back yet.

I'm curious how much they tipped. If I was worth 56 billion, I'd feel the need to tip thousands of dollars every time I went out, regardless of whether the service was good or not.

Went to Waffle House last week for a morning solo breakfast. Sat at the counter. Listened to a few old timers shoot the breeze. Enjoyed my coffee. Read the paper. [thumb2]
I pull this move occasionally. Very relaxing. Not Waffle House, doh. Maggie's has been the spot recently.

-Seems like this team really caps out 32/16ish unless the draw is very friendly. Almost want us to fall to a 5-6 and ship West and avoid as many physical teams as we can.

-Giving Cal a break on the lineups given that we have a bunch of dudes who has glaring flaws. Either they can score and not play D or they play D and rebound but not shoot. IMO, you take your lumps on D, like Duke/UNC, and run with the team(even small if you have to) and have as many scorers on the floor as you can. Spread and drive all day.

Not giving him a break on coming out of an under 8 timeout with Humphries, Dom, Gabriel, Fox and Briscoe. that lineup should never be on the floor. Also, Gabriel starting experiment needs to go.

-Don't really want to see him sell staying for the mid range guys but I do want to see him alter the narrative that you're a failure if you DON'T make the league after 1 year. Next year's class is a bunch of 10-30 ranked dudes, so that's a start but we need some of those guys that develop and don't feel like they need to leave if they aren't on track to leave after 1 season. Grab a couple sharp shooters in the 50+ range every year and let them develop without feeling like they have to bolt. I don't see a reason to pick up those guys who either aren't massive or can shoot. We should be able to hand pick those dudes.

The problem is every single guy ranked in the top 100 believes he's one and done. And then Cal does absolutely nothing to tone those unrealistic beliefs down.

It's up to you, bud
is about as far as he goes trying to get someone to stay.

The way I see it:
  • Lottery pick = GTFO
  • Mid First Rounder = GTFO
  • In the 20s = consider you're upside. Can you realistically improve your stock?
  • Late first rounder = consider your upside. Can you realistically improve your stock? Do you have a first round guarantee?
  • Second rounder = are you too stupid or lazy to get your degree? If Yes: go. If No: Stay, after you graduate go play pro ball somewhere for the next 5-10 until your mediocre career is over, and then milk the teet of UK fans for life.
    • There are a few exceptions, but not many.

Enjoy the occasional solo lunch at the counter at Skyline. Plus no one judges if I double up on a sidecar.

I think if you're a "guaranteed" top 20-25 pick, you have to go. The risk of coming back and getting "exposed" is too great.

If you're borderline first round, then I think that's where it becomes debatable.

Kids going without a reasonable shot at being in the first round is just staggering dumb to me.

Not always. It wasn't dumb for Ulis to go.

Or the Harrisons, imo. Sometimes you are what you are, and it's time to go see if you can make a squad -- which they all did.

The list of 2nd round picks (and undrafted FA) having long careers in the NBA is a mile long. There is no blanket way of saying "if you're this, you should go and if you're not, you shouldn't".

I hate people that say that shit, but I already knew I hated Chase. Every single person's situation is different, both inside and outside of basketball.

You can criticize D Lamb's choice as well but he did buy his boy, Richy2P, a sharp looking Audi and he gets to post pics of NYC street food on the regular.

You don't know that.

I feel like he gives them a pretty fair assessment of where they stand, and probably even lets them hear it from the mouth of scouts/admins.

Then he probably says something like "you'd be a gd idiot to stay here and play ball for no money".

In that late first round camp, I'd argue the only dudes who should stick around are freak athletes who need to work on basketball / life skills (e.g., WCS, Wenyon). Spend some time in college in a supportive environment, learn to be "the man", and develop some additional moves. Those are the guys who could make the leap and move much higher in the draft.

If D Lamb would've graduated from Kentucky, with possibly another title, and as one of the best 2 guards we've ever had here, would he be eating hotel room service on Cal's dime and refusing to come out? Or would he have matured a bit by graduation, possibly enabling him to not be such a twat and stick in the league, or even make a better choice and have a long career in Europe?

Would he have missed out on a small amount of D League money and a shit minimum contract (if he even got that)? Maybe, but I'm sure he could've had those exact things two years later, with a degree, and the UK tit to suck on.

Now, he's a footnote and a loser.

The problem is every single guy ranked in the top 100 believes he's one and done.

Especially if he's at Kentucky. It's like you're expected to go after a year, and if you don't, you're a failure. It's because of this that guys like Dakari and Teague left before they should've. Of course, that approach also got Booker and Ulis drafted higher and quicker than anybody ever thought they would.

That's Cal's business model, and it's obviously worked for him, even if it does have its drawbacks.

Just bank on the fact that we're losing 7 of our top 8 players after this year, and will be starting all over -- again -- next year. It is what it is.

How about Dakari? Would 2 more years have made him a lottery pick?

Maybe. And he might have a degree, too.

Dakari is a second round pick, so I'm not sure what his contract is but the D-League salaries are a joke.

A guaranteed contract at lottery pick prices would probably have been worth the risk for him.

Not going to Europe or Israel and making $75-150k (often tax free) for 10+ years is a bigger mistake than entering the NBA draft early. I know Rome doesn't have the same allure for a young D Lamb eat as it does your average GYEROman, but that's just straight up ignorant.

I love that Heshimu Evans got his Portuguese citizenship so he could milk that train as long as he could.

- Bitch move by BBdK but what else is new? Shove your country club card up both your aholes.

- It just never stops with Clark and his uppity bullshit. What are you trying to prove?

You're not better than me!

- Anth lost me a long time ago when he started picking Bonzo over me. That's fine, pal. I still have Jerome and Casey.

- We're due for a Monk explosion so I think yes I will watch the ballgame on Saturday.

- Can't wait to see Ursch in two months- only dude here who KEEPS IT REAL!!!

- I'm fine with Willy when he's lurking.

Financial adviser: "D Lamb Eat, I think you should consider this contract offer from Avellino: 4 years,$125k per, 2 bedroom apartment in downtown Naples, no taxes or healthcare expenses. Your offer from the Las Cruces Desert Dicks is significantly less attractive: 1 year/$10k and one bottle of fierce grape gatorade per game."

D Lamb Eat: "lol shadup lil bish i hate spaketti"
