Is there anything better than being a KENTUCKY fan?

Re: GYER27-0

Cherish every win from here on out... This team will be looked upon for decades if not centuries.

Undefeated is the ultimate goal but we gotta do it in stages.

Win Reg season
Win SEC tournament
Win NCAA tounament..

I wonder if winning the SECT is going to be the hardest thing for us to accomplish... 3 games in 3 days... Cal not really giving a crap about it... And nothing to play for OTHER than our undefeated season... I suppose we will get up for it but you saw what our 2012 team did...

It's really just a matter of these guys giving their all from this point out... No reason to think anyone can beat them if they do that.

EDIT: Also, can we just go ahead and say Gonzaga is benefiting from their awful schedule and should be more in line of a 4 or 5 seed? In fact, I'm pretty sure I'll predict them to bounce out of the NCAAT in the 2nd round. Any team with some decent size or athleticism would be the end of them.

Re: GYER27-0

Props to Auburn for not trying to make it at a slugfest. Its refreshing to see this team get out and fly for once. Great game to have with Delk's jersey going up in the rafters.

Re: GYER27-0

If you're not watching, you should be - Zags and St. Mary's going down to the wire on ESPN2.

Re: GYER27-0

Ha.This fat dude is lighting up the zags. Come on dbags, got an 8 team parlay finishing with a zags win.

Nah. I just think they need to show what the did last night. It was not a positive reflection following UK beating the doors off Auburn. They're not undefeated, we just want to get them to the 2 line and Wisky on the 1.

I prefer UVA(w/Anderson), Wisky, Duke as 1 seeds.

Re: GYER27-0

Lol at Gonzaga struggling, and you guys declaring them a 4-5 seed.

As if UK and every other team hasn't had multiple similar games. St. Mary's is a tough place to win...

No clue what they'll do in March, but they're definitely a top 8 team -- they have more quality depth than anyone in the country arguably after Kentucky.

Re: GYER27-0

Who called them a 4? I think it's pretty obvious Wisconsin is a 1 seed at this point. Kenpom has Zags at 6 and RPI at 8, which I think is pretty accurate. Best win is SMU @home when SMU was really struggling.

They're good but obviously after watching them I would love to have them as our 2. Much more than Kansas, Arizona or Nova. You gotta has some athletes to keep up with us.

Wiltjer struggled, and they trailed, for 3/4 of that game b/c he had a guy of similar height on him. What's he going to do with us? Loved watching him hit the boards and battle though. Good for him.

-Pie's and Pints last night. Cool place, the pizza was pretty good. I just went standard sausage/pep so from what I heard the specialty pizza's are better. Really awesome beer list and interactive digital board updating each keg.

-Awesome stuff seeing 00 go in the rafters. First time I've witnessed that. Not going to lie, got pretty misty and a lump n my throat. Dude was right behind Mash for my all time favorites.

-Had fully planned on going out last night and crushing. False. After I ate the week caught up with me. Hit the bed around 12:30 and just got up about 45 minutes ago. Refreshed. Think my plans today include watching a movie and taking a long nap. Probably should hit the bike for a little exercise I guess.

-Louisville is getting dangerously close to falling to that 4-6 line and have at least 2 L's left you'd think.

-Sunday Morning 630 is terrible, why do I listen to this?

It's terrible and i love it at the same time...helps the drive back, if nothing else.

-Got takeout from 'The Post' Friday night...new NYC Style (per their slogan, an blatantly false) pizza place & pub in Germantown. They completely revamped an old VFP (or something).

It's pretty awesome inside....cool atmosphere, cozy, lots of TV, and 16 taps featuring mostly local/craft -- including 3 Country Boy rotating taps. Wodie.

Pizza? Meh. Seems people think just b/c you sell oversized pizza by the slice that = NY. Pizza was fine, good even...but it was as much NY style as Pizza Hut pan is 'Chicago style' - aka, not at all. Medium thickness, robust/chunky sauce (similar to Impell), very 'mealy', and not at all foldable. Was kind of disappointed, was pumped to have my favorite pizza style just down the street, but it was not to be.

That said, it's quality pizza...just under false advertising.

Guess I'll stick with my quarterly trek across town for DiOrio's to satisfy that craving.

Re: GYER27-0

I said they play like a 4/5 seed... Obviously they are getting a 1 or 2... God forbid they get a 1 over a Duke/Wisky/Virginia... Gonzaga scares practically nobody. I'd love for them to be our 2.. I'd love for them to be our 4....

Re: GYER27-0

Disagree.

Their only loss is on the ROAD at Arizona, a #1 seed contender, in a game they probably should have won.

Yeah, their schedule since has been garbage, but not much they can do about that. 4/5 seed = 13-20 ranked teams.

While they are obviously the 1/2 seed we'd most like to see, they are far from your 4/5 seed this year...have you not been watching college basketball on a national level this year?

Other than Iowa St, UNC, and *maybe* Oklahoma...no other team is even in Gonzaga's league, imo.

Re: GYER27-0

Gonzaga "should" be a solid 2-seed. Considering the really good teams up top, I don't think they are a 1.

Re: GYER27-0

Correct, Chad.

*Are we allowed to talk about how well Andrew Harrison has been playing lately? Feel like he might actually be "getting it".

Re: GYER27-0

Agree.

-And yeah, Andrew has been pretty damn good...much more consistent than his brother, for sure. It's like every other game with that guy, almost clockwork at this point.

Re: GYER27-0

Feels like Andrew has been playing with a little extra hitch in his giddyup since the stinker he had at Florida. He's running differently, he's dribbling differently, passing, shooting, everything is different.

I don't think Grazonga is better than Kentucky, Wisconsin, Duke or Virginia, which means I don't think they should be a 1 seed. Grazonga falling below the 1 line would bring some semblance of order to the galaxy and not totally screw over Wisconsin and the poor bastard 1 seed that would otherwise get Wisconsin as its 2 - most likely us.

BBdK mentioned this on Twitter, but I want to bring it here - how great is Kevin Harlan? He has to be the best college basketball play by play guy on the planet, and especially on CBS. Who's the next best full-time play by play on CBS? Verne? Nantz? Ian Eagle? I know they bring in Marv Albert for the tournament, but that doesn't count. And Harlan and Raftery together, while not having the same "2 old guys at a bar" vibe that Raftery and Verne do, still make for a really fun viewing experience for this Ohio State/Michigan game that would suck to watch with a different announce team.

Re: GYER27-0

So, Alvin "Bud" Dupree is (predictably) dominating the NFL combine.

-Highest vertical of all LB
-3rd highest broad jump (from ANY Position) since 2006
-4.57 40 (again best of all LB)...almost a full 1/10 faster than our "homerun/playmaking" running back Braylon Heard.

Re: GYER27-0

Pretty amazing how much constant drama there is around Rick's program. It's always something over there. Who kicks a senior off the team in late February? Rick says he's not about the drama but he's ALL about the drama.

Link to my kickstarter to pay Chris Jones to write a tell all book about his UL career.

Re: GYER27-0

Godamn forecast sucks. If it's cold in Nashville for the SECT I'm done. Don't even try me.

Re: GYER27-0

Louisville media has not been shocked this much since juan diego mashburn palacios never developed a jump shot. What is truly great about all of this is that in reality Rick is their pinnacle. They have worked so hard to step from the shadow that is cast down 64 and done an adequate job that is admirable in a pat on the head type of way.

The problem is that the bunch is so delusional they probably haven't considered that this run has been the best of times. They were more focused on our team rather than a great run in their program history. The irony of the situation that they just tried to gain some approval while building a "nice squad" makes me smile. GOOD EFFORT! bird gang.

Re: GYER27-0

Obviously we can all love MKG and admit that it was not an offensive foul. Its a stretch to say Jefferson shoved off on him, Mike just got caught in a bad spot and was helpless.

Re: GYER27-0

-Richard Jefferson has to be 50. That dude played for Zona when I was still in high school.

-Big fan of the jerseys the other night. Hope we keep them. Only complaint is the letters not being filled in.

-Pretty lazy day yesterday. Laid around about the entire day after a long as week at work.

-Watched Boyhood. I really enjoyed it, certainly a different movie with a loose story line, no real dramatic plots, but the way it was put together was pretty cool. I guess I'll watch Birdman at some point. Tried to watch the Oscars, just couldn't get through it.

@ Cal. I guess he really does hate Pearl/Auburn. First time all season we've run that little screen inside game with Lyles that was so effective with MKG. Of course it was money in there. Good to see us adding some new offensive sets.

-Loved Pearl's comments on teams trying to zone us and talking about how our eyes light up. Ulis and Booker's do for sure. Soon as they see it you can watch Booker hunt his spots.

-Going to be a long stretch, busy week + work weekend. At the end of it I'll be staring the SECT right in the face though. Can't believe we're this close to it. I don't want to be in Nashville with jeans and jackets, leggo weather.

-So are crazy vivid dreams kind of like crazy nose/ear/eyebrow hair and just a part of getting older?

-Shew wee, bad week to be a UL fan. Remember, we don't need any bad karma.

-Wildcat1973 I need a few coachtimmiller posts. TIA.

-Goodman can't talk smack about Andrew's play right now so he's changing focus to Marcus Lee not playing in crunch time and being unhappy. SMH, what a loser. Creating storylines and attacking kids is a strange way to go about your business. This where you wanna be when Jesus comes back... picking on poor old Marcus Lee?
