The news of multiple players is definitely a gut punch.
The gulp is realizing our entire left side Oline is two rs frosh, a true frosh backup and a less than healthy Horsey.
Not a hurricane, but definitely some clouds.

The one nice thing that could offset the inexperience on the OL is the talk of using multiple TE sets. if there are 2-3 TEs in the game, they can be used to keep the defensive front 7 guessing a little more, too. Any hesitation by that front 7 buys extra time for the offense (and especially the inexperienced OL)

Hopefully coaches are trying to hold out Horsey for Miami of Ohio so he is healthy for Florida. Wright i fully expect to be back for Florida. When Stoops said multiple guys (2 is multiple) again coach speak so people that know (CROD and WRIGHT), he is not confirming CROD and WRIGHT. I think we are fine and I do not expect others right now. We will see after this week. Then I will gulp if multiple guys are still out.

These are not your everyday RS Freshmen. These guys might make some mistakes but both are more than capable against MAC opponent. Hopefully:)

Hopefully our O-line is prepared and ready to go. It is a position that we have recruited well over the years, so the talent is there. What they are missing is experience. Unfortunately, our last O-line coach didn't work in the backups often enough. I'm going to remain optimistic that the talent is there to win in the SEC, and by the time we hit the meat of the schedule the unit will have enough reps to figure things out.

I totally agree. The one thing you cannot teach (at least not 100% is being mean and nasty). We have had some guys be just flat out nasty on our OLine. We will need some of that. Manning is one of those guys. Coach Stoops said Burton is one of those guys. Big thing is are our tackles mean and nasty. I know they have talent. Need a guys that get under the dline skin, someone that talks it up while planting a guy in the ground. lol

1. CRod suspension is Mitch's hands all over it....all the while our biggest rivals have guys on roster with all kinds of deals and shaddiness and a 4 year player with a clean nose gets a 4 game whammer
2. Wright gets a 1 game suspension for same silliness as CRod
3. I don't like to start with Burton/Wohlbaugh on the left....I hope Horsey gets back ready and not less than 100% all year long. We really need him ready to roll by Florida is my hope.
4. Does it as Jordan Dingle is ahead of Cummings at TE?
5. I am not hugely in love that Jefferson dind't beat out Smoke....just don't see much in Smoke to honest....and I thought McClain clearly beat him out end of last year.....so that RB room isn't what I expected
6. The Ohio St transfer isn't 2nd string....I would have thought him to beat out Sanuders
7. So is CB2 Keidron Smith or Andru Phillips?

If Crod is guilty of receiving pay for hours he didn’t work from the UK hospital (due to timesheet fraud which is the rumblings) it’s hardly silly

We've talked a lotta stuff about other team rule violations. ..kinda hypocritical to bash our admin for trying to follow them.
Falsification of time sheets is firing offense every place I worked or managed. Besides being dishonest, it's actually theft....and shows some character concerns. Now, I dont expect choir boys, and from what I read this has happened quite a bit ... but if that's what it is, then yeah....should be accountability.

Then fire him from the job and move on.

Everything doesn't have to be a big morality lesson for these grown men.
We are not running a Sunday School class. This is SEC football!!!
Our admin needs to get a better understanding of that and loosen their panties a little bit.

What happens in the boosters private digs is ok, but when a player makes a mistake, all hell has to break loose.

Very hypocritical, if you ask me. He who has the money, has the power.

This right here! I think we are worrying too much about that spot. We should worry until we see the players play but the doom and gloom is a little overblown IMO. The talent is there at the LT spot, it's just green. Having a plethora of tight ends and running a lot of 12 personnel will really help disguise any deficiencies until they can get a little more experience. Wolford not rotating linemen last year like Schlarman did really hurt our development and put too many unknowns in our heads about the roster. I think Yenser will be able to coach this inexperience up and ultimately we will be fine.

We can get by this one but what happens next week?
We will have to find out when that time comes. Some teams are better playing under pressure than others. But let's keep in mind that Florida has their own problems. Richardson is a good player, but he is a problem for our defense. It is good to have experienced LBackers. I am not sure Wohlabaugh is a liability. He hasn't backed into the job. He earned it fair and square.

Sounds like it was a mutual agreement. So not as if he was unilaterally stealing from someone. Sounds like the someone was a willing participant.

I'm all for enforcement of important rules but 4 games for this sounds like nonsense. Think bama or ut would suspend their probable all time leading rusher 4 games for this?

Exactly...then Fire CRod from UK hospital and be done with it. Missing games is sort of needless.

If a guy has a job at Applebees and this happened....would it not just be fired from the job and UK does not even know about it?

I don't really know if the UK hospital is part of the university or not, but sounds like it is, or how much he was over paid. But the vibe is he was on the verge of being dismissed and CMS fought tooth and nail to keep him. Wasn't there chatter of that when this mess started?

That is how I recall things started here on the board.

I’m not worried.

We had 12 out for the Iowa/Citrus Bowl.

We have depth.

This will allow some youngsters to get their feet wet, a little earlier than normal.
Amazing how some have their heads in the storm clouds, and don't stop and realize we beat Iowa who had a damn good DL with a patched up OL.

He had the job because he is a player, probably not the only one who has done stuff like this but if you are high profile like he is then don't do this kind of crap or get better at covering your tracks

I don’t care what bama or UT would do, that’s potentially fraud and a crime and he should be punished appropriately. 4 games would be the least of his worries if he wasn’t an athlete so it’s not like he’s being super punished. And so should the hospital if it was allowed and so should UK if they knew. Besides if true and he wasn’t who he was, he’d already be gone. No one should be above the law, if true and if so it’s bigger than an NCAA violation

We don't even know what he has done, yet you are accusing him of "fraud and a crime".

Matt Jones has already stated that what he did was NOT a crime!!! So why not WAIT until it is made public!!!

No I am not accusing him - please read before you post … I said if it’s true multiple times and I responded to you not what Matt Jones said after these posts were made. I have no idea what he has done and I am sure the school will handle it appropriately but in truth this entire thread is speculation and what if so in that view we shouldn’t be commenting on it at all really because we don’t know what’s true and what isn’t

This was my FIRST POST in this thread. My point is that those in the know about what happened have stated that what C Rod did was NOT a crime. Jones also stated that he thought a 3-4 game suspension for what he did was “ridiculous”. So your OVER EXAGGERATION of this entire situation is nothing but self-righteous speculation.

Which was my entire point.

And the poster you responded to was correct in saying that if this had happened at UT or Bama, their best RB wouldn’t miss ONE game.

Again learn to read, you’re putting words in my mouth- I have always said if true, I have never said anyone was definitely guilty - So have fun in your rage, I’ve got better things to do

I am responding to someone else's post, so what does that have to do with you, a-hole?

Last time I checked, this was an open forum for discussion as long as you follow the rules.

I wasn't answering a question, I was stating a fact. You must be reading comprehensive challenged.

Dumb@$$.

I think you hit the nail on the head here.

There is NO WAY CRod could have pulled this off without someone in administration being complicit in signing off on time worked.

I really think the AD and school admin are trying to figure out a way to self punish and self report to NCAA or whomever has been aggrieved by suspending CRod, hoping it all blows over so the school/hospital doesn't get a black eye or get into more trouble over whatever took place.

If so, that is complete BS. Fire CRod. Make him pay the money back. If there was no crime committed, quit treating him like he HAS COMMITTED A CRIME.

I heard all I needed to hear about this when CMS said "I am standing behind CRod on this". That should tell you CMS thinks it is BS, whatever "it" is.

I would love to be CRod's lawyer when this is all over. Someone is doing irreparable damage to this man's reputation and whatever "it" is, the punishment dam sure better fit the " crime".
