Great read on Mulder from coachcal.com

I know some think of him as being a sort of desperate measure when things weren't going too well last spring, but I think he's an excellent addition to what under Cal is usually a very young, inexperienced team. This year we have Poythress, Lee, Ulis, and Mulder to create a nice blend and balance of youth and experience. I think this young man will make his mark. And you have to love that 46% from 3 as a soph, and the # of 3's he's hit along with what is obviously a tremendous work ethic.

Nice read. This guy is certainly going to have an impact and be a solid contributor through out the season..

A leader by example, Mulder believes one of his roles on the team is to be the guy who is always giving his all.

I think if he can shoot as good as they say he does then it will be very hard to keep him out of the starting lineup. Athletic shooters are hard to find. Next season is going to be fun.

Generally speaking, a D1 player will shoot a higher percentage than a JUCO, because the player will not force shots as much. I've heard, but not seen with my own eyes, that Mychal has hit his head on the rim more than a few times. So he can shoot, and jump, and has good awareness. The only negative I've heard is that early on at Vincennes he forced his drives, sorta like Liggins did early on at UK. I immediately thought of Fitch after watching his game at VU.

Yeah, some of those force drives by Liggins were cringe-worthy. When he learned his role, he was much better. One of the best on-ball defenders at UK that I have seen.

I didn't find Fitch to be that much of an athlete but he did and awesome job of rebounding for his size. It was truly amazing.

In fairness to Liggins. I attended a pickup game when he was just coming in. He received a pass from top of the key. He was at the elbow with his back to the basket. He bounce passed, without catching the ball, and without looking at the baseline, to a cutting player who I think was Kevin Galloway for the uncontested bucket. I knew Liggins had some game right then and there.

Great read. I hope he has 2 great years at UK. Will call play him at the 3 this year ?

Cool to have a great pair of Canadians along with the Aussie and Kiwi pair on the team. I think it's funny that Mulder has the same last name as the main character in the x-files which was also made in Canada. Who knows he could be our x-factor.

You don't understand the whole "positionless player" thing do you? We have so many fans that are obsessed with whether a guy is a 2, or a 3, or a 4 or what have you. I can tell you that Mulder will be in the game with two other guards at times, but "3" is just a number, it's meaningless. Mulder is a role player, his role is not to be a "3", it's to knock down open threes, effect the game with his athleticism and be a high energy and effort player.

In all seriousness, that white t-shirt he's wearing in the pic posted above is AWESOME. I wish they'd sell some of the gear the team gets to the public.
