Grantham getting it done

Their defense looks bad, but I give them some credit for bending and not breaking (though they were aided immensely by Clemson brain farts and bad home cooking officiating).

The real problem is their offensive line and QB play. Just bad.

More importantly Mastermind Bobby Petrinos offense 2-14 on third down with 19 yards rushing for the game. Powerhouse.

Indeed that offensive line is bad. The right guard I think he's number 77 is all size and no skill. He gets blown up on every play.

But I agree with the guy above...Grumpy called "3rd and Grantham" a long time ago and all of the UL apologists just insulted him and acted like he was an SEC homer.

Stats for ul through 3 games. Not pretty.

Total defense 77th
Rush defense 101st
Pass defense. 55th
Scoring defense 87th

ul response, well those are good teams we played.

My response, why are you paying your D coordinator $1 mil a year? So you can have good stats against bad teams? This is no different than last year. Beat up bad teams and get hammered by good teams with all of the cards NFL talent. Go back and look how they got manhandled last year by good offensive teams. Looks like Grumpy was right even though some card fans will defend grantham to the bitter end. Looks like ul overpaid for all of their coaches.

Their DL and LB corps were touted to be one of the best in the country. Seems like too much hype right now.
Grumpy also told them their front 7 wasn't one of the top 3 that they faced and ul was claiming it was 3rd best in the country.

I'm still not impressed by their most highly regarded criminal... I mean player. Fields has looked average at best through 3 games.

Heard his name called once that I remember last night, another name you never hear is Harvey-Clemons?

I don't think Auburn or Clemson are good offenses. Clemson has some talent, but that qb couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, and he may be better than Auburn's qb. Both of those teams ran the ball down UL's throat and they were powerless to stop it.

Where are Wildcard and AJC telling us about how wrong and delusional we are b/c Phil Steele says that UL has a top 10 defense????

I don't like beating a dead horse, but in Grantham's case I will overlook that. He is always full of excuses. His first year our defense sucked because players didn't know his system well enough, the second year was because we didn't have a 350+lb nose man, the third year it was because we were young, the forth year he knew it was his last and stopped talking to the media. Every year after the NFL season he had his agent to check on every open defensive position in the league. He got a few interviews but no offers. Lousiville fans will have none of this, but he was told to be looking for another job after his defense gave up 2 drives in the 4th quarter to Vandy 2 years ago. He was done at UGA after that game, the termination was going to be announced less than a week before Louisville hired him, because after that saved about 500k. Louisville's hiring saved us from paying a buyout and we didn't charge him one for leaving. Jeremy Pruitt was named 2 days later. Now how much sense does it make for a coordinator who just won a NC to make a latteral move a week after winning the championship to a school he has zero ties too. I think it had been in the talking process for awhile, Louisville just speeded up the process by a week, and all UGA fans are grateful. I am not sure our OC hire isn't on par with Grantham either, if he is Richt is probably done at UGA within 3 years.

to be fair, Josh Harvey Clemons had two interceptions against Auburn, IIRC. That being said, I am not all that enamored with transfers from big programs. Too often they either (a) have lots of baggage, and are more trouble than they are worth, or (b) just aren't all that good to begin with.

I remember u coming over here and telling us all about it and the UL lurkers giving u some stuff over it. I honestly didn't know he was as bad as he was though I just thought he was bad for Georgia's standards. Turns out he's just bad. Stinking it up pretty good in Louisville.

Dang Tsk, I could have gotten an interception from the AU QB, how many does he have now, like 6 or 7? LOL

Before the game I heard commentators and AU fans comparing their new QB to Cam Newton. Afterwards, my comment was that they both were tall and African American, and that is where the similarity ends.

To be fair he had one of the two thrown right to him like he was an eligible receiver.
