Help is on the way though, Buckeye fans.

Freshman forward Mickey Mitchell has been cleared to play by the NCAA, according to the school's athletic director Gene Smith. He'll be available to play on Saturday as Ohio State takes on Kentucky in the CBS Sports Classic at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

The 6-foot-7 Mitchell had been forced to sit out the first 10 games of Ohio State's season while the NCAA investigated a matter that was not related to academics, according to coach Thad Matta. For his part, Mitchell seems excited to be able to get on the floor to help his team

Interesting....

Is he good?
He was all over the place with his ranking, from top 50 to barely top 150 depending on the different recruiting services. I've read that he's a real heady, high iq type with a decent shot but not much of an athlete.

I think he was once a top-10 guy then had some injury issues. Acl or something like that.

Was talking to a dude named LEK on the Paddock. He said would lose tomorrow due to this.

Coach Cal briefly recruited him. Surprised he's in that range.
His parents did the HS redshirt thing, so he was always older than the guys he was playing against, and he was physically advanced anyway. Other players started to catch up to him as they grew into their bodies, and his rating dropped like a rock.

He is a nice passer for a guy that size, and a solid athlete, but he can't shoot.

Describes my wife. Good reason to marry, but not much resume for basketball.

I swear this guy gets talked about more than any low ranked three star recruit ever. How many threads have there been about him over the years? He was one of those youtube sensations that turned out not to be that good in real life.

Wez ain't skeert of no dayum Mickey Mouse.

I hate to be the grammar police but there is no such word as skeert. It's a'skeert. As in we ain't a'skeert of . . .

Now don't argue with me, I hold advanced degrees in 2 separate redneck dialects but I don't play one on TV.

Back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I just went to buckeyeplanet.com and they had a thread on him which linked his recruiting rankings. Rivals has him as a 3 star, scout and ESPN each have him as a four star. Humphries and Willis are both better than he is and our starting front court is much better. So nothing to fear especially since this is also his first game. Also the OSU fans on buckeye planet seem to be consenting a loss if you were curious.
