Thought Cal made a great move running Isiah at the free throw line vs the zone. He can drive and dish and I feel ok if he shoots that jumper. Good clever passer. Can get to the basket and finish with either hand. Made a nice kick out for a couple threes so good vision. Smart coach

Completely agree. Like how Briscoe can finish but looks to pass first.

I though the same thing when I saw Briscoe move into the middle during that zone.

The insertion of a determined Willis has made UK a lot better in many ways.

Wonder if he can pretend he's flashing to the middle on his free throws. offense looked good when he did that.

I think Cal for the most part has leveraged Briscoes strengths while limiting his weaknesss. He plays a lot of minutes and our offense can bog down with him in there, but we dont have a lot of options.

With Ulis, Murray, and Willis in against the zone, that is the perfect way to use Briscoe against the zone.

It's going to be difficult to zone us with the emergence of Willis as a stretch 4.

We sweat about zones every year, but they rarely do us in. 2010 being the exception.

Really good thread. I immediately noticed how effective running briscoe to the free throw line was. And credit to briscoe with making several smart plays in that situation.

I thought that was great recognition on Briscoe's part. Obviously Cal has been working on that in practice and as soon as it was noticed they made the immediate adjustment. Great coaching and teaching.
