I’m giddy as a schoolgirl, and I’m a 57 years old man. It’s been years since I have been able to wake up feeling this way about a game. Hell, over the past few years, I doubt I would have even known we were playing. I have missed this so much, and it just takes me back to days I enjoyed watching the cats, my cats, playing basketball. The memories of sitting down with my dad or grandfather and watching every second of every game have been sorely missed. They have both passed on from this life, but I can’t help but feel they are looking down with a smile on their face knowing we have our program back. GO BIG BLUE!!!

I'm going to the game tonight and can't wait. I know the feeling you are referring to and it feels great to have that feeling of looking forward to each game again. I also get a little down again between games as I find myself looking so forward to the next one with great anticipation. And, like you, OP, I'm no kid either.

It is fun to watch the Cat's play again like we did when Rick was coaching. I am 79 and the last 3-4 years I have not enjoyed watching it as much as I used to because of the way our former coach was coaching. Got so tired of hearing Go make a play and jerking players if they missed a shot . So glad that Pope is our Coach.

Goooooood morrrrrrning Big Blue Nation!

Is that you, Gomer?

Well, golly gee (and a coke coler!) yes it is!
We're all just chompin' at the bit for a little Kentucky basketball today! Where's our good buddy, basketball Bennie?

I'm right here, Gomer! I ain't gone no where!

Looks like the gang's all here! Nice to wakeup on a CATS CATS CATS GameDay with a few thousand of my closest friends!

Go Big Blue !

anyone have 1 ticket they are not using tonight , wife and I would like to take neighbor that doesnt get to go often

This has been the longest week in Kentucky basketball history. I know the season flys by and I need to enjoy it while it last and quit rushing to the next game but I’ve always hated November when there’s only 1 game a week for a couple different stretches. Especially coming off a big game like we just did
Hope they still remember how to play after being off a week

Yeah, it's terrible that UK basketball was so bad for 4+ years that UK fans couldn't even watch it. I know there were many who couldn't bear to watch it. And Calipari's answers became so cliche that it just infuriated fans. Mark Pope is such a breath of fresh air. Not only does he actually love Kentucky from the heart, he also loves the fans and respects them. He knows and understands the assignment and he isn't going to make weak excuses if he's not getting the job done.

And I'll add this regarding a game like this one tonight. With Cal teams, we never could feel any comfort about any games. If they were coming off a big win, a let down was very possible. And even with a bad team coming to Rupp, we couldn't have much comfort because we always seemed to allow some unknown kid go 8-12 from 3 and beat the Cats for a "once in a lifetime" kind of game. How many guys had "once in a lifetime" games against UK over the last few years? Too many.

I'm not saying we will never be upset by some no-name directional school under Pope, but I don't think it will happen very often. When his teams should win, I expect that they WILL win. So, I'm feeling pretty good about tonight. :D
