I always thought title 9 was just about trying to equalize sports resources & funding between men and women's programs?

Why wouldn't they just be investigated & potentially punished via school and/or state harassment policies-laws?

Title 9 provides some form of unique channel for sexual harassment investigation that wasn't already in place?

Federal bureaucracy to accompany the university and state bureaucracy maybe?

Title 9 is the law about sexual discrimination in education. One of the results was leveling athletic opportunities. It also makes the institutions responsible for preventing sexual discrimination. A corporation might be able to keep a rapist as CEO. Turn a blind eye. Make it go away privately. Title IX would force schools to do the right thing by law.

This and why I always get cranky when people say they'd rather have winning over everything else. Whelp, this is what happens when you do that. You get sociopaths who don't give two rat's asses about anyone else but them. That's not a culture we want here....ever. Pitino and Cal are about the furthest to the ego-maniacs I ever want to be here.

Attitude reflects leadership. Almost always. You do what you are allowed to get away with. If the AC sees his HC is doing it, with no reprisal, and he's into that kind of power move himself, you're crazy to think he won't try it.

It not only makes it worse, it makes Golden's accusations look more accurate.

I can't believe he's not been suspended while they investigate this further. UF is losing a lot of respect from me.

Well, they should know enough now at this point that if the accusations are true, Golden should be on leave. The pictures and texts are there, or they are not.

When Chris Beard was accused of domestic violence, that happened extremely fast and his wife was actually trying to stymie it.

If I was the accuser in the Todd Golden case, I'd be pretty pissed seeing him just continuing to ciach like nothing happened.
