Just wanted to get some tips and pointers from fellow cat fans. My gf's family is from the Nashville area, and they got me tix for this weekends game. I've been to plenty of games at Rupp and NCAAT games at Yum, but have never ventured into someone else's house. Just kind of curious of what to expect.

I know BBN shows up a lot at Vandy, so that'll be nice. But what should I expect from the Vandy fans? I have a hard time seeing them being nasty, but you never know. I know I'm going into someone else's house, so I'm not going be an obnoxious fan, but I'll be there cheering on the cats. Just kind of curious what the atmosphere/vibe will be like.

I'm also excited to finally see their odd arena in person.

Great man. We travel with the team and always like seeing new faces from big blue.

Most of the time we pack their house quite well, unless they are really good. I look for UK to have tons of fans Saturday. Candy fans are ok, not the best but not the worst. When they win, they get obnoxious. (Small trophy case syndrome).

The arena is neat, but can be uncomfortable in the wrong places. The food sucks. If you smoke, they have zero places for you. They're terrible about accommodations. They won't allow you out once you come in.

I rate it middle to back of the pack in the sec for arenas and all things related.

Thanks S&C, I'm looking forward to it. I'll be sure to eat before I go to the game then. I'm not sure where our seats are at, I was just told they were on the second deck or something. So hopefully it's a decent view.

I've always wanted to be a part of the "Go Big Blue" chant in an opposing arena. Always gets me amped when I hear it on TV.

Go big blue chants and seeing opposing fans faces gives ya goosebumps

I was at ole miss when Noel had 12 blocks Poythress at mid court waving his arms in final seconds to the loudest go big blue chant. I still have it on my old phone. I need to look for it and try and post it

Ha I was there too. I love going to the old tad pad. Awesome seats everywhere. The one place you can get great access all over if you try hard enough.

I'll be there. Section 2L row 16 seat 23 on UK's end. Come say hi, unless you don't like me...then come over so I can pretend to talk to you while I fart and let it woft up your nostrils.

I'm gonna stop by Maggards and have him make me a wedding cake for the hell of it. I'll tell him spears said hello.

"Wouldn't of known you were baking these had he not told me"

:)

I was there for this one, also. My girlfriend is an OM alum. Wiltjer had a very nice game too.

Yeah he did. Our bigs played well especially in foul trouble. Noel had 12 blocks and played with four fouls most of the second half.

We've got a group of 22 headed down for the game...we'll be in 3L. Expecting to see a lot of blue and white in the arena!

Actually, I have seen more UK games at Vandy than at Rupp. More recent, my "freebies" have been in an elite Vandy section. Common sense prevailed. If you purchase you own , you are likely in with many UK fans..

I was there the night that Nazr hit the 20' "lay up" according to Vandy fans, after time expired.
It wasn't so mild in the Vandy section of my seat. ..(I caught the ball that Drew Maddox hurled into the crowd)

Another experience, the night that Bowie was hurt, I witnessed a Vandy fan "calling out" another Vandy fan for cheering Bowie's injury..........thus the worst and best of Vandy at the same time.

P.S. I really like the place, unique and different...still my best memories are of our on Memorial gym in the 60's

I will be taking my son to his first UK game. We will also be in 3L.

Awesome...sounds like there will be plenty of Go Big Blue chants emanating from 3L and 2L! Hope you and your son have a great time and let's make his first game a big win!

I would say from my experience the place is typically about 1/3 or maybe a little more UK fans. Probably 5,000 out of the 14,300 it seats. I've been 5 times.

I might make it 6 Saturday. Still not sure.

I've been there plenty of times, and been on the wrong end a few of those. The best way I can describe Vandy fans is that they have a sense of entitlement, though as someone said earlier no trophy case to back anything up. They despise UK and they despise when their fans sell their seats to UK fans. To them, seeing blue is like a bull seeing red and they will be amped way up for this one. Also strange is that some Vandy fans will sell this game to pay for their season, and for some this is the only game they'll go to all year.

There will be a lot of blue in 3F and 3L, the end zone uppers but due to the "unique" set up, you can't see one upper side from the other, so you won't be able to see but hopefully you'll be able to hear each other.

If it looks like Vandy is going to win, get out early to avoid the hecklers because they'll be dishing it out.

I'm about 5-5 at vandy, Vandy fans only care if they are winning, but it is my favorite sec gym, besides Rupp

I have also had a similar experience at Vandy. I had some older elitist type Vandy fans give me very dirty looks while they said things under their breathe. However the Vandy fan I sat next to couldn't have been cooler and more complimentary of our team. This was 2005. He kept raving about #5 in blue. He asked me who was. A huge grin came over my face and I said "That's Rondo. He's a freshman. You'll hear more from him"

I'll be there. If I have time, I'll make my way over to 2L to see how you've managed to get your fat ass into a single seat.
