Glad to hear Cal get on refs tonite..

There are usually several games a year where you have to beat the other team + the refs.

This team hasn't been mentally tough enough to fight through that. Being prepared to play 5 on 8 is a good idea.

Just because he asks if its thread worthy doesn,t mean it's not...i wouldn't have started the thread if i didnt think it was

Kansas wasn't the worst called game ever - I'd say that the last part of the second half went entirely their way, which would've given us the W otherwise, but the whole game was like a C- on the refs. Primarily, they just made calls that refs never make late in games, and they only did it one way.

UT, on the other hand - there was an incredibly long stretch where everyone on our team (except Lee - he deserves every foul) got called for double their deserved fouls. We had no foul trouble and then were on the verge of fielding walk-ons like half way through the second half. Even ULIS was called for multiple fouls. ULIS. Now, if we weren't sloppy, then that still wouldn't have been enough to beat a 21 point lead, but point being, I'd say that the refs did a poorer job at UT than KU.

Whine!

We have discussed and discussed and discussed and cried and kicked and screamed about refs and this perceived super bias against Kentucky by the dark dank underworld of officiating.

And you think Cal saying it don't matter because you have to win anyway merits another whiney thread.

Then you stick your nose into an answer to a question you didn't ask and start crying about it.

The one poster gave you good advice. If you are too sensitive to read what I post, take it.

The point is, if you start a thread at least have some substance to it. Like you said he had a couple good jabs. Elaborate. What were the jabs? What did you find "good" about them? Otherwise you are making threads just to make threads and cluttering the board. The thing is, you do it every day. You know, it's a little annoying that Preacher Tom takes up a third of the homepage every day, but I actually click on one of his threads every now and then because the article he posted interests me.

it was alluded to the team is frustrated with officiating but Cal tells them to expect having to beat some teams 8 on 5. Then also said something like "we foul everybody but nobody fouls us" ...stuff like that

Just said apparently we foul everybody but nobody fouls us...tells his guys cant dwell on it if you have to beat 8 guys go beat 8 guys

"If you have to beat 8 guys, go beat 8 guys."

My outlook every single road game for the past 40+ years. When did Coach Cal start quoting me?????

Exactly......we're seen as the Yankees and Alabama of basketball. The big "evil" dynasty that everyone wants to cheer against and see some underdog take down. I believe that refs (being human) want that in the back of their minds....especially when we're on the road. The appeal of a feel-good story with the crowd roaring in the background probably turns those 55/45 and split-second decision calls in the other teams' favor.

The refs are NOT why we are losing. We foul way too much, make stupid decisions, run the shot clock too low, then heave a brick of a three, Got no offensive inside scoring threat, miss too many of what few foul shots we get, our defense can NOT stop penetration. Refs are just not the problem.

The Yankees might be the Kentucky of baseball and Alabama might be the Kentucky of football though.

I hear the tired old "5 vs. 8" all the time. People act like it's just a part of the game and we should all expect it.
WHY?
Refs are paid to do a job and to do it without bias; fairly enforcing the rules each and every night, no matter who is playing. I'm pretty sure that's in their job description somewhere. So, why are they not held to that standard? This isn't the YMCA where you sometimes have to draft people out of the stands to ref a game between 9 year olds.
Cal is right that the rules aren't being enforced uniformly thru out college basketball. Some unifying organization (outside the NCAA) needs to be formed that will have the power to suspend bad refs. If coaches and university AD's would demand it, something might get done.

Just a good rule of thumb for you...i post something or i respond to something...you dont like it then just dont say anything about it
There is absolutely no fun at all in that. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
I bust your balls a lot. But, I do know that you mean well.

Obtw I have bass on ignore

Everytime i post you have a negative comment about the thread or me...just pass it by..let it be
I have a herd of them that have been doing that for almost a decade. They are more concerned with trying to belittle me and others than they are the games.

I seriously have no clue how Cal hasnt blown a gasket over the past two games. As crazy is it may sound I think the UT game was worse than KU...

I agree with you, but the past two game they were in fact the problem.

I am glad you posted about the ignore button because I had no idea about how to go about it. I will probably never use it but it is good to know it is available and know where it is.
