I've heard from two different people at UK today that Cal is NOT entertaining the Texas offer. Instead he is working on meeting with Kenny Payne & Orlando Antigua to get them back to UK to make one more big run at this with his original guys. Apparently the deal would be for KP to be head coach in waiting and a significant role for O. The surprising part of this is to make room for them Cal would let go of Joel Justus and Jai Lucas.
Another name floating around that UK is high on is Preston Spradlin. Not sure if he would garner HC job attention but he is a name to watch in the future for some type of role at UK.
I wouldn't have even bothered posting but two different people told me the exact same thing and also makes sense why KP might be holding off on taking the DePaul job. I personally hope it works out...
*EDIT* One holdout on this is getting UK to increase their budget to afford KP & O's new deals. Don't expect it to be a big issue but it does need to get approved
