You didn't mention chandler; I believe he'll play a role in next year's backcourt rotation. Barring a transfer

I realize that we should not limit ourselves to a small guard. I also think that we should have diversity on the team of skills. It would be nice to have a 6'3 or four guard to do things when Smith is a fish out of water. I've seen Smith enough to know he's very good.
If we don't win every game by double digits it's a failure. I had those same thoughts when I was 12 🤣

He’s the Big Ten player of the year and been a first team conference player two years in a row….and some of y’all acting like he can’t play. SMH

Hope Pope cleans up in the portal, but there are numerous teams that run systems like his. Why does everyone think his style is so different?
Yeah, getting a major conferences player of the year would be absolutely terrible.
I don't know about a stud, but he is a great prototypical PG. He averaged almost nine assists per game this season. In his first couple of seasons his defense was suspect, but he is averaging two steal a game this year so he has shored that up some. He can also rebound, shoots 38% from three and averages sixteen ppg.
HIs defense and height are his weak points. Purdue lost because their guards couldn't keep the opponent out of the paint and off the rim.

This guy is very good and team oriented. Would be a good get, but can't see him leaving Purdue.
I agree. Honestly thinking here you may only need Braden Smith and you are done with backcourt.

I imagine we caught a lot of guys attention that plan to transfer when we beat Duke and Zaga in thrillers. Pope will do an amazing job here. Already has with several big wins !

Imo, uk needs to add a top point guard, shooting guard, both forwards and center. Depending g on Perry, Noah and Chandler, will not win the SEC, and certainly challenge for ncaa title
He's a good player but I would be surprised if he left Purdue. He grew up in Indiana and seems to be doing really well. Wonder how much UK would have to pay for him?

It’s ok if you want to win one game in sec tournament and maybe 2 in ncaa. You must have some dudes. There is no different kind of player
Smith is the perfect guard we could ever imagine, dude went to a NC game and is definitely a top 5 college guard easy. I couldn’t imagine many better transfers to get for us honestly.
I think it's not nothing that we're 3rd in scoring and 15th in offensive efficiency with a rapidly assembled roster and all the injury-induced discontinuity. I'm excited to see a Pope team that's assembled more traditionally with a real star or two.
