Asafo-Adjei has received the Anthony Munoz offensive lineman of the year award. The award is given to the top OL and DL players in the states of Kentucky, Ohio, and Indiana (top lineman on both sides of the ball between the 3 states, meaning 1 OL and one DL player gets the award each).
The candidates for the award must show academic success and community involvement.
The award is available to high school freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and seniors.

I'm happy for Asafo-Adjei in regards to winning the award, and think we have an outstanding lineman here, That's a large pool of players to compete with, and it speaks wonders for his commitment on and off the field, as well as for who he is as a person. The staff has talked about the possibility of getting him on the field for his freshman year due to his unique talent and hard work, this only further supports that. We're a lucky group of people to get a player like him at Kentucky!

+1 Anthony Munoz was an amazing player, absolutely dominant as an NFL offensive tackle. He would often push his man 6-7 yards downfield. His only flaw IMO was permitting his son to play for the Evil Orange Empire. Great accomplishment for GAA.

We have all read a lot about his athletic ability on here, great to hear he is also great off the field.

As I have said since his committment, the fact that GAA was not a Rivals top 250 player is EXTREMELY laughable. He will contribute BIG TIME from his 1st day on campus. Despite his already outstanding talent, he is a gym rat that will work every second possible on improving his game. He will also be a tremendous leader on and off the field. Might be my favorite recruit in the entire class, to be honest.

To be clear, the award is for the Cincy area, not the entirely of those three states.

Hearing that our o-line is vastly improved. May be a product of a couple of moves, and putting Asafo-Adjei up there.
Also, +1 to BigBlue for the bump. This was posted a while back lol.

Sometimes its hard to pick who on the oline is not very good. First of all, last year it seemed that we had a different player making a mistake or getting a penalty on every other play. Having youth there is always a problem especially when they are competing against 5th year seniors on the defensive line in the SEC. At the open practice it seemed the QBs had more time but it was a scrimmage so its hard to tell actually. One thing the oline needs to do, is prevent the defensive lineman from knocking down so many passes at the line of scrimmage(3 during the scrimmage), they have to prevent that from happening or it will be a long year.

But but but------was he even rated?

A real bonus to get a surprise like that, really like to see a walkon excel.

But it sounds like Big George not only has the credentials but the right stuff to also excel.
