Geography of Kentucky trivia

About 50 years ago I was rabbit hunting on top of this hill in Madison County. Didn’t see any rabbits, but found this scrubby little tree with a small fence around it and a marker indicating that it was the birthplace of Kit Carson. I had driven by this hill for several years and had no idea. The city of Richmond is currently building a huge soccer park on this hillside range and will also honor Kit Carson’s birthplace. I found the attached video with pics of the birthplace and marker.

I cheated. Google Lens says it's an old water tower at Fort Thomas.
Yes. It's at an entrance to the old Ft. Thomas Army Base named for Union Gen. George Thomas of the Civil War. The base is now mainly a beautiful city park.
