*****Game Thread UK vs UGA******

31-9 free throws with UGA playing street ball all game; Too numerous to count atrocious calls; refs going to the monitor begging to call flagrant on us not once, not twice, but three times; ignore blatant choke hold by 14 on Carr…….and all I see you post all game is how we suck, each player sucked, and no one cared. Just odd.
My posts all game? Go back and look at ALL of my posts in this thread. You're more dramatic than Jaxson.

EDIT: Nowhere did I say "we suck" or "each player sucked". Enough of the thread policing. Post your thoughts on the game itself in a GAME THREAD, or zip it :)

I understand that you are not going to win them all. But, when you lose to a lesser opponent because you didn't have enough heart to fight, there isn't much to say. I don't think this team has a single NBA prospect on it.

I’m usually one to point out that a perfectly even number of fouls and free throws isn’t necessarily the mark of a fairly officiated game, but free throws being 33-9 in favor of the team who’s been over the top physical all night is one of the more absurd stat lines I’ve seen in some time. We may still be somewhat soft, but it’s hard to match their physicality when the standards of allowable contact are so different for each team.

Dribbling into traffic under the basket where you're about to be greeted with leather between the teeth isn't "running the offense". He's done very well tonight, but this was a marathon game with a big deficit, and hero ball isn't the way.
Everyone not named Oweh has been scared shitless to do anything.

My one and only concern right now is that Pope hasn’t figured out some kind of counter to this game plan against us. It’s not going to stop happening and he has to figure something out.
The ONLY counter we have is to make shots. When we can't, it will be a long night. Add to that when the Refs are as HORRIBLE as they have been tonight and you get a double digit loss.

We just don't have the athletes to counter this style YET. However, more effort on rebounding and getting out on 3 pt shooters would help and tonight we did NEITHER. We wouldd have beaten UF by 20 if we would have kept them from getting all of those Off. Reb.'s.

Turned it off. I refuse to watch Cal ball, and I hope that Pope comes to his senses on a few guys and tells these guys that they HAVE to operated within the offense he wants them to operated within.
Agree to a point, but didn’t like guys passing up close in shots early to kick it out for a contested three. Out offense was garbage all night.

If we put any real effort into fundamentals tonight, we win this game comfortably. That's troubling to me. I'm not convinced the guys are telling themselves this.

This looks like a typical trip to Georgia, they are ready to play and we are not. New players and coaches same results, Georgia out hustling and out playing us. I knew early when we couldn’t extend the lead and nobody could score but Butler it was going to be a struggle. It’s going to be like this every road game, you have to be able to put the ball in the basket and withstand everything going against you. Our guys got a first hand look at how it’s going to be on the road against one of the weaker teams.

Now that the game is over the ref calls a CRAPPY touch foul on the white kid to try and even up the numbers!!!!

RIDICULOUS!!!!

Pope should get coach of the year for getting this bunch into the top 10. He has done more with toothpicks and bubble gum than any other coach could have come close to doing. I am not saying this because there isn't talent on this team; I am saying it because he has a collection of players who aren't willing to consistently battle and will melt like butter when things get tough.
