He is very inconsistent. We need to be able to count on him every night … we need him.Robinson is totally unpredictable as a player.
His output reminds me Rodrick Rhodes. Looks like an All-American one game, and then goes 1-8 from the field the next time out.
I never really looked at Robinson as our best player. Feels more like an ensemble cast: Carr, Oweh, Robinson, Brea, Butler.i
thats why him being your best player is a issue. He is never consistent ever
Chandler isn’t either.
Except we’re veterans, not Freshmen.Very similar to the Oakland game.
I wouldn’t over analyze a bad half. We definitely gotta shore it for sure thoEmbarrassing half. Going to be more SEC losses than we want to admit right now.
Different era though. It was a lot easier to keep guys focused back then and almost keep them in a bubble. Today, they get told how great they are on social 24/7 and they are paid athletes on top of that. The good news is they seem to turn it on when the lights are the brightest but they do get full of themselves really quickly it seemsThe "on/off" mentality is unacceptable. Cal's teams did that, but never Pitino's.
Pope needs to light into them this time. Tonight is not a "gratitude night"/ "your impact on the universe and its significance night." Rip them to shreds at halftime for showing up like they'd rather be at Chuck E. Cheese playing ski ball.
I think it's more fans wanted a nice easy game after the fun (but stressful!) game Sat. The three's not falling is concerning. Especially when its a major weapon in our offensive scheme.Let’s all take a deep breath. The zone threw us for a loop. We couldn’t figure out what to do but shoot 3’s and they aren’t falling. Pope will adjust here at half. This kind of game is miserable for fans but it’s a great teaching tool for a new team.
I kinda of did after watching the Duquesne game from himI never really looked at Robinson as our best player. Feels more like an ensemble cast: Carr, Oweh, Robinson, Brea, Butler.
A good, fair post …Colgate:
40 2FG%
21 Offensive reb%
0 FT
4 TO
They are doing a good job taking care of the ball and are on pace for 16 made 3's.
Lacking Butler or whatever isn't explanatory for Colgate's showing. They've shot worse against worse defensive guards. And really, they are only shooting well from 3.
The biggest threat or issue from this game is our pitiful offense. Shooting 37 FG% against 265th team in adjusted defensive efficiency is the crime. With halfway decent shooting we'd be up 10 at least and merely complaining about a 32% 3 point shooting team shooting above their ability.
Depth is clearly going to be a problem. Chandler and Perry are unplayable in SEC play. Almanor is useless if he can’t hit open threes.Embarrassing half. Going to be more SEC losses than we want to admit right now.
3 point shooting
Brea: 4-4
Rest of team: 0-11
The shooting I completely agree with. It’s troubling.I think it's more fans wanted a nice easy game after the fun (but stressful!) game Sat. The three's not falling is concerning. Especially when its a major weapon in our offensive scheme.
It's a legit concern. It hasn't become a problem yet but it can't continue should be the number one concern for the staff.I like Pope’s ability to make adjustments. It’s a huge breath of fresh air after the previous coach. I am a little concerned that the first half struggles are becoming such a trend though. As fun as the Duke and Gonzaga comebacks were, we aren’t going to be able to climb out of every hole we dig against good competition over the course of the season. Some faster starts wouldn’t hurt anything at this point.
