Haven't seen it posted but Kellogg commented about the early morning practice the cats had and one the previous night. As a former cross and track coach I would not taper my team for early meets against lesser teams. Short term performance would suffer but post season performance would be close to optimum. Is this some of what we're seeing?

Cal has said he tapers off practice time more and more as the season progresses. I know back during his first year some reporter asked him about game day practices (it was something hotly debated at the time because Gillispie did them) and Cal essentially said that he didn't think they were a good idea. So yes I think that's some of what we're seeing, part of Cal saying he wanted to be "creative" in keeping this team from peaking at the wrong time.
