The two reasons you listed are interesting to me. On one hand, historically Duke has had the best wings (read SF or PF), but UK loaded up on them this year, including a guy they took from Duke. And why would Oregon have a better pipeline to Canada than the school that has signed 3 Canadians in the last 4 years, all of which were top rated players from there?

Just for clarification, Duke absolutely would've taken knox and that was a miss. However, important to note that the Bagley stuff had started to gain momentum behind the scenes and that played a big role in Knox's decision.
From a business standpoint the Knox's ultimately decided that their son had a better chance of being featured at uk and they were correct in that assessment
Sure, it was openly discussed on the circuit this summer and absolutely no one ever disputed it or treated it as flexible

F Williamson
F Gabriel, Washington, Vanderbilt, or Richards
F Shittu
That would be a killer lineup. Williamson gives us the scoring stud we need. Green and Quickley are pass first players that can knock down the open jumper. That is exactly what a player like Williamson needs around him. Shittu is a good compliment to Williamson as well.
I feel pretty confident that one of the four guys I mentioned will return. Not everyone is going to get minutes. Also, if Cal thought he was losing everyone, he would have cast a wider net this summer. He has been very selective. He has only offered one post player (Bol) that I know of. He has basically shunned guys like Reid and Jordan Brown and hasn't gone hard after Moses Brown. He is only now starting to turn up the heat for Shittu. Either the Big Men crop really, really sucks or he expects a few guys back that most think will leave (it's probably a little of both situations).

I think the trend is showing the NCAA is loosening its eligibility rules out of high school overall. Basically obtain a passing ACT/SAT score and have attended high school.
