Future scheduling

Here is the reality of scheduling for UK, they currently have four out of conference games. Three are home games, and one rotates. If we go to a 9-game conference schedule, then the rotating game will become an SEC game. At that point, we will only schedule home games unless there is a financial incentive to make up for the loss in revenue. So, for example, ESPN could incentivize SEC and ACC teams to play each other in some sort of made for TV, inter-conference series.

This new scheduling format will not just impact UK. It will be the same for every SEC team. Unless there is some way to make up for a budget shortfall, none of those games will be away from home. So, start getting excited about the opportunity to play more teams in the SEC. That is the advantage of being a part of that conference.

What you are saying is that no SEC teams are going to play OOC games away from home in the future if it goes to 9 conference games. That's just not going to happen. There are still going to be a lot of OOC games in the future played away from SEC home stadiums.

UK currently alternates between 7 and 8 home games, depending if UL is at home or on the road. If they play UL in the new world, they will have a consistent 7 home games each year. The SEC contract and TV money will allow them to make up for that 1 home game loss every other year.
