A friend went to Kentucky's practice Friday. Here is what he passed along to me.

The coaching staff worked on attention to detail defensively to begin practice. Blitzing ball screens, downing them, and "X"ing out. There was a lot of teaching and showing what was done correctly and what was done incorrectly. Offensively there is an emphasis on passing the ball rather than dribbling. Everyone thinks they know what the offense will be, but until you see it with your own two eyes you don't. 3's within the first 12 seconds of each possession was the norm.

Andrew Carr was by far the best player on the floor followed by Lamont Butler. Kerr Kriisa was awesome. He is vocal, guarded hard, and made shots. He made some mistakes, but he will be a fan favorite. Brea is a sniper. Almonor shot it really well. There was nothing much from Robinson. He made one nice play all day, and floated the rest of the day. The three freshmen are all normal first year players. They are long term guys.

The starters were: Butler, Chandler, Brea, Carr, Williams.

Second team: Kerr, Oweh, Robinson, Almonor, Garrison.

The best five lineup would be: Butler, Kriisa, Brea, Carr, Williams.
