its fine. this team is a joy to watch. better than last years team. shooters up and down the roster
Wait what???? I respect you as a poster very much but Briscoe, Hawkins, and Matthews can't shoot at a college average level. That's 3/5 of our guard rotation.
Tough to watch. Between Cal screaming his brains out and the missed free throws this is tough to watch.
I have no tolerance for guards that can't make FTs. Briscoe and Matthews are horrible.

Play some more zone and put Humphries in for some offense. He is too big for anyone on their team.

I've never understood how these 4 and 5 Star HS players can't make an uncontested shot, namely FT's. It's ridiculous.
Why didn't Humprhies play at all tonight? Still nursing the foot ??? He played some last game.
Free throws have got to get better.If Briscoe can't make them then he is useless at crunch time in a tight game
The Cats went to the line 46 times tonight, that's the second most free-throw attempts of Calipari era.
I have concerns about the free throws as well but this Illinois St team was leading Maryland by 7 until about 5+ min left in their game. Skal had a bad game as well but w/o ulis they did win.
Poor Free throw shooting can be a SEASON ending issue! Thats what concerns me. Still early in the season but usually poor % free throw shooting doesn't go away. It is what it is.
Briscoes head is whats killing him. No point getting to the rack all the time when you can't shoot FREE throws
Agreed. This team does have the talent to win it all, but its margin of error is not very high. We are not a good jump shooting team by any stretch. And we are a pretty bad FT shooting team. The only two people I have faith to hit a FT when we need it are Murray and Skal.
Probably a couple road games in the SEC. I didn't know Briscoe was a bad free-throw shooter coming out of HS. That, or he has some type of mental block. I just can't grasp missing that many free-throws. I know we can't make them all, but jeez.
NOT true at all. Just look at last year through this same amount of games.
And we finished 73% when all was said and done.
This is the first time most of these guys are shooting free throws standing there with 24,000 eyes on them in the arena and millions on TV.
FT shooting for young guys definitely gets better with time.
