Just got finished watching the Signing day program on UK TV. I have to say that Freddie Maggard was absolutely the star of the show. He knows more about football than all of the other broadcasters combined. Freddie is also the most articulate of the bunch.

It make me wonder Freddie isn't on tap to get one of the principal positions in the UK broadcasting crew. Others that watched the coverage --- don't you agree?

I'd love to see him involved more. Knowledgeable and deeply likeable.

Freddy sounds intelligent. He did a great job calling the high school state championship games (I only heard 4A). Smart guy and a good face of UK football.

Completely agree. Freddie's insight and football knowledge is sorely needed on the pre-game show. Plus, he is a lot easier on the ears.

I agree that Freddie ought to be seriously considered for the broadcast team! Need somebody that knows what theyre talking about!

I'd take a wooden Indian holding a box of cigars over Oscar Combs.

I agree that UK needs to get Freddie more involved with their broadcasts. Very knowledgeable.

I cayn't believe anyone east of Muhssourah would won't nothing more than a little EXTRY Oscar own are pre-game show. I mean look at his expertise in tawkin' bayskeebaw!

I really just cayn't believe it,

I cayn't.

I CAYN'T.

I CAYN'T!

Maggard is on the Leach Report every Monday during the football season it's called the "Monday Morning Quarterback" and it's by far the best sports talk radio you hear all season

From Cumberland, any other players from there that played at UK?
I can't remember any, but that doesn't mean that much.

Wasn't Cumberland, Evarts, etc swallowed up by the (fairly) new Harlan County school?

Yeah, Cawood, Evarts and Cumberland combined to form Harlan Co High in 2008. Really nice looking school located in Baxter.

Plus Oscar knows zero about football and cares about it less than that.
I am all for FM getting the gig on the pregame for fb...Should be easy since my guess that OC(basketball only) will more than likely give up the position before next season...After all CWS is going to crumble because it is structurally unsound and unable to be renovated...RIGHT OSCAR!!!

...Surely he doesn't want to be inside that place!!

Interesting that on the Leach Report this morning Freddie Maggard said that he has devised his own ranking system. He believes that this years class is Stoops best since arriving at Kentucky.

Just noticed there is already a thread on this topic.

FM has been a good take/read/listen for a few years... I hope that the new JMI media contractor takes notice... My personal opinion, there is a market for this type reporting and football knowledge locally...

Love listening to Freddie analyze- you know he's UK through and through buy stays above favoritism.
