Fred Hoiberg at Conference Tourney

Well, I don't want to turn this political, but you do realize our health care system is what makes it so much more difficult to do that here than in other countries?

It's easy for countries with national heath care systems to decide they're gonna test everyone and get the situation under control. But it's a lot harder under our system, because not that many folks are doing it unless they know they ain't getting stuck with the bill.
With respect, only about three countries have theirs under control, and all had to take drastic measures- it wasn’t just about testing. One of those countries that has it under control is an authoritarian regime that welded doors shut to keep people in quarantine and happens to have a larger than usual supply of useful medical equipment that is used to keep political prisoners alive while their vital organs are extracted.

Cutting down on large crowds and canceling school is going to make a real impact, I think, and buy crucial time.

At present, we do not have enough kits for wide range testing. This is not a political post, just fact.
How is South Korea able to do this?
No politics here either...I really wonder.
And we can’t even seem to scratch the surface, with testing
It’s a purell conspired plan, is the only logical explanation

Not arguing just conversing. Please take it that way

PHS can be called in with the national guard.
It happens more than you may think; and very, very quickly
I was an officer in the PHS, I can speak with knowledge.
fyi...I’m too old now, I gave up my inactive reserve commission just a few ago. I was a whisper away from being called to duty with Katrina.

This is a prime example of WHY the NCAA will have to cancel the tournament. A SELFISH person RUINS it for everyone else.

Not only has this coach put his team at risk, but also EVERYONE that came into contact with his team!! If I'm the IU players, coaches, managers, AD, Referees, Scorers, etc. I am LIVID over this!!
Does he have it? Or just food poisoning?

I read that pregame he was complaining of a 100 degree temp.Didn't this make him have some concerns about making his players sick?Jerk move.

If this is true, and he knew he was sick before the game, at the same time he also knew we were facing an extremely contagious global pandemic ..and still coached the game exposing himself to everyone ..well, that's just pathetically irresponsible.

I've always liked Hoiberg in the past, but that's just an utterly inexcusable move ...assuming it's true.

Agree to disagree
Education is and will be the only thing that slows it down.
Panic and knee jerk will keep it moving

What if it is the common flu or food poisoning?
Irresponsible, IMO is that he (IF) didn’t get tested. That is mother ****ing damn selfish.
If he actually was dx with it and showed... fire his ass. Period

Fred Hoiberg should be fired if the part about the fever is true.

Would they quarantine the whole ream if they thought it was food poisoning?

Even if it isn't the Corona Virus, the optics of this are HORRIBLE!! If he does't KNOW what it is, that's HORRIBLE!!

Until confirmation? YES

optics should matter shit in this...
he was sick...if this was a lingering thing and he did not go to doctor. **** him.

if sudden onset... shit happens, we are human and our bodies are fragile

I’m still going with food poisoning or common flu

What pisses me off is that it sounds like he was sick all day.He isn't living in a cave and knows what's going on so why take a chance with your team and other peoples health.I hope it turns out to be nothing but it's still totally selfish on his part.

If you have a fever, and you know if you do, it is highly irresponsible to expose yourself to anyone! Fever means your body is actively fighting a foreign body (virus, bacteria, poison etc.) and you could potentially transmit it! College educated people acting like absolute idiots!

Hope he recovers but his ass should be reprimanded.

He had a fever. His ass should’ve stayed 1000 miles from his work.

If he has had a fever for a few hours, he should have done the responsible thing and gone to the doctor

I once played a high school ball game wth flu symptoms starting that morning... I told no one, I wanted to play so bad.
I ended up in the hospital for three days.

Fred is no high schooler and should be held to a higher standard... even common flu, don’t infect your team, Jack ass.

If sudden onset... watch ya goin do? And probably not corona but just a stomach virus.

Or at the doctor. Why even give away the foo in flu?
If/when my employees have fever.... it is zero tolerance... stay home, don’t get the money maker (me) sick.

I had one call in last week. “I’m going at both ends.” Fine. Stay your butt at home.

Have I been burned that way a few times? I’m sure I have. Is it worth having someone come in an infecting the IT staff? Nope.
