Fox vs. Ball for Lakers' # 2 pick

IMO, after keeping up with several articles leading up to this draft, this is exactly why LA will take Ball. Some look at Lavar Ball as a negative for the franchise, and probably correct with most, but not LA. If you haven't noticed lately, drama SELLS. Drama follows Daddy Ball around like a crackhead follows a crumb trail. That will sell jerseys and push TV ratings in LA. I don't think the Lonzo Ball will ever be an All Star because he just has too many crucial flaws offensively and defensively, but he does have a dramatic flare for highlight reel passes and is a good leader. The entire Ball circus hype has been built more on drama than factual statistics, and this will continue at Los Angeles. If you only looked at Ball's college statistics against top 25 competition you would definitely come away unimpressed, which is why every time Lavar is interviewed he states that Lonzo cannot be judged on his statistics because he is just a winner. My question to him? What happened to those Championships you gauranteed preseason then? If Lonzo is such a great leader and winner?

What were his stats?

I'm not a Laker's fan, but if it means Fox being drafted as high as 2, I could learn to live with it. As a lead guard, Fox is the man. Ball is a fun player to follow if you ignore his dad's opinion. I don't know what to make of Ball's NBA future. His shot looks awful, but it does seem to go in more often than not. I want to say the kid is going to bomb in the NBA, but any kid that has the court vision like Ball, I think might just stick around the league for a long time. Ball makes some really nice passes every game that looks so easy but then you don't see any other player in the country doing the same. Let's be honest, if Fox can become just average at shooting the ball from deep, we're talking about being one of the best point guards in the NBA for a long time. I wish the best for both kids, but since Fox is a wildcat, I do wish even more for his career. Both guys will probably be very good players in the NBA.

If I were the Lakers GM....and I am a Lakers fan....this would be my off-season dream. Draft Fox at 2. Trade russell and their 28th pick in the first round to move up in the top 20 to pick luke kennard. I would sign Gordon Hayward and nerlens Noel in free agency. I would to role out a starting 5 of Fox at 1, Hayward at 2, Ingram at 3, Randle at 4 and Noel at 5. Kennard for extra shooting of the bench. Also be in great position to sign Paul George and demarcus cousins in 18. Would still have Clarkson and some other nice bench prices.
I'm a suffering Knicks fan....Monk PLEASE!!!!

Lol at people comparing their defense. There's maybe one PG in the whole damn league that plays defense. As for Ball's ugly shot, Tayshaun had one, too. All that matters is that it goes in.
