It doesn't have to be star players. I think it's just as intriguing thinking about some good, but not great, guys and how they may have differed under Cal.

I would have loved to see Ramel Bradley play for Cal. He had that dog in him and was a gifted offensive player with the ball too. Tubby tried to suppress his swag but he had so much you couldnt lock it all down.

He would have flourished under Cal IMO. Especially given the ability to bounce it and show emotion.

Others? I'm sure there are plenty through the 80s up people can think of.

Jodie Meeks. 2010 would have gotten #8.
I agree with the #8 part. I think that benefits us, I'm not convinced Cal would have benefited Meeks in any big way however.

I still think about how damn good that team would have been with a dead eye shooter. Like 96 good or better.

Amazingly enough Cal would have had a year where he missed on a target and been forced to play Shag considerable minutes.

With our propensity to lob pass and Cals hype/mouth he would have found a way to get a first round draft spot for him.

I'd say Joe Crawford but in all honesty Cal would have crushed his spirit somewhere through sophomore year back then. He would have been the Memphis version of Antonio Anderson to Cal. Brutal.

That would be hilarious. I bet Alleyne would have been a stiffer AD playin above the rim blockin shots....

I know this sounds crazy but think about how much more fondly guys like Bobby Perry would be remembered if they played for Cal.

He for instance was done a disservice by poor recruiting and being forced to be a huge weapon. He held his own in some major mismatches on the block and was forced to log way more minutes than he should have had to.

With Cal he becomes a 6' 8" small forward who has decent handle, good shot and rebounds well. He'd only play about 12 minutes a game unless there was considerable foul trouble and everyone would have loved him.

Meeks
Bogans
Prince
Rondo
Joe Crawford
I think Bogans and Prince were served well by the system they were in. Rondo is a no brainer and Crawford would have probably transferred.

I wonder if Cal could have inspired Randolph Morris? If so he would have been unstoppable. He put up Patterson numbers without any effort whatsoever.

Or maybe kept Jason Parker from self destructing.

Joe B had few race horses he held back too. Some athletic front court players as well.

Rondo and no one else comes close. He would have been used properly as flourished. No way does he fall all the way into the 20s in the NBA Draft with Cal.
I'll ask again, what happened to Darrius Washington? He was rated higher and used properly but did come anywhere close to Rondo.

I was thinking more along the lines of players that would benefit from Cal. Not all players do and several would be worse in his system. Use Wiltjer as an example.

I personally think a guy like Willis would have been better served in a basketball sense if he remained committed to Purdue.

Dwight Anderson
Derek Hord
Rod Rhodes
Richard Madison
Randolph Morris

Maybe those guys careers would have been different under Cal and our success with those kids may have been more.

Rondo and Morris together would have been a dream. Morris would have been a stud under Cal and probably still in the NBA. People forget how good he was coming into Kentucky. Heck, the Knicks at least signed him for a bit after 3 years of Tubby. 1-2 years of Cal would have been amazing.

I think Cal would have done a really good job with the 04-5 team

1 - Rondo / Bradley / Moss
2 - Crawford / Sparks
3 - Buike / Perry
4 - Hayes / Perry
5 - Morris / Woo / Alleyne

That team was built like this years team - 3 Stud freshmen, solid senior.

I think Cal running that team could have given UNC a run that year.

+1 for rondo....it's pretty amazing that he fell to #23ish in the draft. He would have been a top 5 pick under Cal.

Give me the Goose, Tony Delk, Kyle Macy, Melvin Turpin, Sam Bowie & Kenny "Sky" Walker. He had Andrew Harrison at 6'6 but another 6'6 PG, the pre-injured Derrick Jasper would have been interesting in Cal's system.
