Last year Pompano Beach (Fla.) Ely receiver Therrell Gosier was verbally committed to Kentucky after a recruitment with plenty of twists and turns. He did not qualify and is at Northwest Mississippi Community College, where he redshirted this year.

One of Gosier's high school teammates, Thomas Geddis (2016), took an official to Cincinnati and when I was trying to find out whether UK would be interested Geddis told me that Gosier is planning to be at Kentucky sooner rather than later.

Today Gosier told me that he will join Kentucky's program after he completes the spring and fall semesters of junior college. So if that happened he would be a redshirt sophomore upon arrival at Kentucky, with three years to play three and an extra semester since he'd arrive in spring of 2017.

He told me that D.J. Eliot, who has been his recruiter all along, is still in contact with him and so the exit of Tommy Mainord didn't affect him at all.

Now, worth noting is the fact that there is a long way to go and in the case of a junior college player any attempt to project eligibility that far out is dicey at best. I do not believe Kentucky is even too worried about the likelihood that he could be an early arriving 2017 recruit yet (that's what he would be classified as), but they will definitely be keeping track of his progress on and off the field.

In short, Gosier wants to be at UK in the spring of 2017 and is working towards that while talking to D.J. Eliot, and that communication alone is enough to make this seem plausible. But it's also too early to count him as a commitment or even something they're counting on.
